Can this finally close the book on 2016 please?

It’s a shame that Romo didn’t get one last chance to make a SB run with the team once he was back healthy again. It’s too bad we don’t have the hindsight of knowing if Romo could have pulled that one off.
Dak was like Hurts at that time. OPOY. They made the right choice at the time.

They made the wrong decision. That part is clear. I can understand their line of thinking, and it had some merit at the time but it was clearly the wrong decision because we were bounced from the playoffs in part due to Dak’s poor play in that playoff game.

Just like Jerrah held on to his boy wonder Garrett for far too long, he's done the same with this illusion that the two rookies of 2016 Dak and Zeke are going to lead us to the promised land one day.
Hack the Eagles have been in the Super Bowl since then and yet completely moved on from the quarterbacks and running backs they had and they are at the top of the heap again. Meanwhile our doddering old fool lives in the past.
Couldn't agree more!

Dak was awesome against GB that year. Our defense sucked. Listen I’m not a Dak apologist I’m just stating facts. It was his best game of 2016

Are there any QBs in the coming draft who are certain to become franchise QBs? If so, are we in a position to move up to get them? If they're that promising, what are the odds that they would fall to us? We have to move on, but I seriously question how that can happen.
There's no way we could get one. You'd have to give up multiple first round picks (more than 2), and then you STILL have Dak, his huge salary (which NOBODY is trading for), and no draft picks to build around dak OR the new QB you just mortgaged the future for...AND u now have 30 or none allocated to 2 QBs, knowing one of them will always be on the bench

Well he averaged 19 points per game on offense. Try to extrapolate that over a full season when the defense isnt holding teams to 13 points per game for him.
Dak couldn't get 19 yesterday. How would Dak do if he didn't get any first team reps and had to play? And Rush played against their toughest stretch of the schedule. Considering the situation Rush was in I think he played really well. His and team offense stats would have been much better if he got to play against crap defenses like Dak did.

It will take them at least 3 years to draft and prep Dwk's replacement unless they hire a seasoned vet. Trouble is there seems to be nobody ready, willing, and able at the moment either way.
