Can Ware Get 25 Sacks?

I've asked the question before in recent preseasons including this one. Ware now has 12 sacks in 7 games. Can he get another 13 in the next 9? Or at least 11 more in the next 9 for the record?

Not much good to discuss this week, so this topic is as good as it gets right now.

Few things to consider:
This is probably the best sack start for Ware
He's been unusually consistent getting at least 1 in sack in a high percentage of his career starts. That's going to be the key.
And our schedule is getting fairly soft the next 6 weeks, so there should be plenty of leads and sack opportunities.

I read somewhere today that four of the next six opponents are amongst the worst in the league at sacks allowed (all in the top six, as I recall). In fact, Seattle is dead last. I think he ends up with at least 25.

the thing that saddens me the most about this team is ware and witten will probably never get a ring.

but yes...ware could get 30 sacks this year and it won't mean a damn thing to him...that man wants and deserves a ring.

ware and witten will get a yellow jacket and bust though.

I think the record gets obliterated if he has a big day the next game and he easily could.

That record's on borrowed time with the way teams pass these days.

i bet dan marino would trade his hof clothing for a sb ring.

As bad as I want the sack record for Ware, I'd really would like to see 25 sacks. It's a magic number like Ruth's 60. And it also bests the current record by a nice margin.

OMT Although Allen is .5 sacks ahead, he's played an extra game, so on a per game sack basis, he's behind.
It is amazing that Allen and Ware are on pace for 25 and 27.4 sacks!

If Dallas can handle the weak portion of their schedule like they should, Ware should have a lot of opportunities with the opponent having to pass to try to catch up. I haven't looked at Minny's schedule, but I'd suspect they'll be behind a lot more than they'll be ahead. All things considered, I think DWare has the advantage and will come through in a big way...if only Spencer could get going, then we're really talking some sacks!

The sad thing is that it will probably take 20 or more sacks for Ware to get first-team All Pro honors. Maybe he should mix in some commercials running over soccer moms in sporting goods stores or fines for illegal hits.

I really don't think it's a matter of if hea can get 25, but when will he do it?

All i know is I was wearing my DeMarcus jersey all year and they played well enough to win every one. I changed to my nrand new Dez jersey this week and they got hammered by Philly. I've already said I will only wear my #94 for the rest of the season. (But will that turn out to be bad luck considering he got 4 sacks when i did not "Ware" it?)

Anyways... DeMarcus Ware you are a beast and will eventually be one of, if not the best, of all time!

Sadly, I agree with you.

I have a feeling that by the time the OL and most of the Defense is fixed (DL, OLB [Spencer ain't it, IMO], Secondary [Newman, Playmaking SS and FS, etc.]), that some of the key players (Romo [the hardest position to groom], Ware, Rat, Witten) will be past their primes.

In order to do it, IMO, it would take two offseasons (ie. '75, '89 drafts) of all-time for the Cowboys.

It's definitely possible, this is the best 7-game streak Ware has ever had. The year he had 20 sacks he had a 7-game streak where he had 11 and an 8-game streak where he had 13.

By my count, Seattle has 3 teams that primarily run 3-4 and they've given up 7.5 sacks to LBs in those games. Also, they had significant trouble with the Giants' athletic DEs.

I'd be surprised if Ware didn't get at least one.

Not really. All it would take is sneaking into the playoffs/being hot at the right time.

The real question is not IF Ware gets the sack record, but if 25-30 sacks is enough to earn the DMVP.

Ware would have to take his team to a SB first (and win the game single handedly) to earn that accolade, deserved or not. I mean Ware is no James Harrison.

i think if he can get to a point in the next 4 games where he would need only 1 sack per game, he will get it. (the record)

Actually, I was wondering if the 4 sacks in a game is a Cowboys record...?

Jim Jeffcoat had five sacks in a game against the Commanders in 1985.

My theory is that this defense is going to tank if ware gets to 25 sacks, it.means the others are not pulling their weight.

I believe he can do it.

Don't know yet for sure if he will but I do believe he can and he'll have every shot to do so.
