I'm beginning to think we will not resign Barber. Out of these 4, he's the easiest to replace. I wouldn't be surprised if at pick #22, we take Stewart. I know we need a corner and I think we can still get a solid one at #28 in Cason/Porter/Flowers, but I only see 3 RB's able to carry the load full-time (DMAC,Mendenhall,Stewart). Only 50 days till we find out.

You are crazy if you think we aren't going to get McFadden. Him and Jerry have been having a lovefest for eachother all off season. It will most likely be McFadden and Shaun Alexander at the HB spot. Not sure of the #3.
We will most likely pick Pacman up as a solid #3 who will be moved to #2 after 3-4 games. As far as wide out goes lets hope Hardy falls to the second round and that Jerry moves up to grab him because it doesn't look like we are going to pick anyone up through trade or FA. If Hardy doesn't fall we could always grab Jordy Nelson in the 3rd. Jordy is a Safety turned WR and has amazing speed and would allow us to release Terry Glenn. Jordy has great hands and you can see videos of him on youtube the one that cought my eye is when he burns Aqib Talib for a 60+ yard touchdown.

I don't see why they wouldn't sign him to a longer deal. He and canty will probably cost the least.

Barber will be in Dallas next year unless some team gets ********.

I think he meant to say Barber will be on another team next year unless Jerry gets ********. I you would have to be to sign a change of pace back to a workhorse contract.

2nd half plays for Barber only in playoff game as a starter.
01. 2 yards
02. 3 yards
03. 5 yards (His best of the half)
04. -2 yards
05. 3 yards
06. 3 yards
07. -1 yard
08. 2 yards
09. 4 yards
10. -1 yard

So he had 10 carries and not a one was over 5 yards actually 3 were for negative yards and 3 were for a weak 2 yards a carry. So in more then half of his second half carries he only had 2 yards. 2 yards in 6 carries? And that is our future? That is an every down back? HA

BARBER IS NOTHING MORE THEN A CHANGE OF PACE BACK!
HIS PLAYOFF NUMBERS SHOW THIS TO BE TRUE!

This team seems to be having cap problems, again.

Good thing we didn't keep Reeves then, huh?

Should be interesting to see what unfolds with Barber, Canty, Newman, and Ware.

Welp I am not 100% sure on Newman, but bet your bottom dollar Ware will be a Dallas Cowboy for a very long time.

There's a difference between cap problems and having to make tough decisions because you have a 60 million dollar QB, One of the highest paid TE's, one of the highest paid OL's etc, etc. We aren't in "Cap trouble" but we certainly have some tough decisions coming up and we will at some point, have to let a good player or 2 walk.

No doubt Ware will be a Cowboy forever and he will look to get Freeney money. Newman will want Samuel money. This year we are 4 million under the cap, just don't see how we can sign all of our studs, someone gonna have to leave and I bet it's Barber after this year.

There isn't much of a rush to get these guys signed because they're all under contract. Barber and probably Owens will get exteded after the draft imo. Newman will probably get extended during training camp. I can see Canty testing the market following 08', But I think he'll return. As far as Ware goes, no way he ever sees the open market.

Did you see the #'s on Flo's deal. Big dollars but only costs $3.2 million under the cap for the next 2 years. Cap space can be freed up and contracts structured in order to fit under the cap. We don't have cap problems, we have a talented team and Jerry rarely lets talented players get away. I'm not worried one bit. I think Hamlin, Barber, and Canty will get long term deals by training camp. Newman will probably be re-signed somewhere around the bye week and Ware's contract isn't up for a few more years so theres no rush with him.

Absolutely.

If keeping Ware means losing Newman, it won't even take a second for me to cast my vote to keep our best defensive player.

Freeney money has a better chance of payoff than Samuel money.

In case nobody noticed, Nate Clements didn't make the 49ers defense and Newman doesn't make ours.
