Can we be 5-0, undefeated when the Patriots come to Dallas Oct. 14th ?

It could happen!:star:

What a great "Made-for-TV" game that would be.

Billed as the "Super Bowl preview"

It could happen but that is a pretty tall order. I would consider getting off to a 3-1 start for the 1st qrt of the season pretty darn good start but hey I like your ideal better. :laugh2:

Only Chicago's defense concerns me, but not their offense. We are more balanced.

If we play like we are capable, we can beat NYG, Miami, St.L, and Buffalo.

5-0 is not that far-fetched if we get on a roll.

No.

Just as no team has gone winless since we went to a 16-game schedule (if someone did, please correct me). You can dream about Cleveland, but somebody (or two) will take them lightly and they'll get a win they're not supposed to.

A bunch of those rocket scientists up north think they should be 3-1 after the first 4 games, and win the opener against Pittsburgh.

God, the regular season can't get here soon enough.

Those first five games look *really* tough to me. If we go 5-0, I'll be shocked.

But if we do, boy will we be looking at a great year.

Chicago may be the only big threat during the first five games. However, the mental attitudes will be the reason the first game is lost, as this team is still learning how to win.

I agree it could happen and I would be thrilled to get off to a 5-0 start. However I don't take any team lightly and right now we really don't know what any of these teams will do this season.

Are you saying we will lose to Chicago, St.L & Buffalo ?

Let's get to 1-0 first. Just beat the Giants.

Then only think about 2-0 - something Dallas hasn't done since 1999.

Dallas hasn't been 3-0 since 1999 also.

Dallas hasn't been 4-0 since 1995.

Dallas hasn't been 5-0, 6-0, and 7-0 since 1983.

Dallas hasn't been 8-0 since 1977.

They have never been 9-0 or beyond.

But you have to win on Sept. 9th first.

something like that. I think we will be good but 5-0 to start the season? I don't know I'd be happy getting off to a 3-1 start.

Let's win the LAST five regular season games this year, just for variety's sake.

The Dallas Cowboys have not started a season 5-0 since 1977 when they won their first eight games on route to a 12-2 finish and a victory over Denver in Super Bowl XII.

Thirty years later? Perhaps.

The OLine and Anthony Henry will determain if we go 5 and oh. If our tackles can keep these outside rushers at bay, and our backs can pick up the blitzes, I think we run away with the NFCE.

That doesnt mean that it couldnt happen this year. Those stats dont even reduce their chances. Not in the least.

The Dolphins team that went undefeated in 1972 had a fair amount of luck going their way. There were two games that they came real close to losing and had some breaks go their way. And as it turned out they had a very weak schedule.
Going 16-0 now is much more difficult. So much parity and its so hard for a team to stay focused and ready to play for 17 weeks. Only 2 teams have gone 15-1. And neither one of them got to the last 4 games undefeated. Everything would have to go exactly right for us; Romo would have to be great, our O line a total monster, our D line getting a lot of sacks and Hamlin playing all world in the secondary. Really what are the chances of that?
