Can we be undefeated when the Pats come to town?

The Dallas Cowboys have not started a season 5-0 since 1977 when they won their first eight games on route to a 12-2 finish and a victory over Denver in Super Bowl XII.

Thirty years later? Perhaps.

You didn't see my post on the first page obviously.

Dallas went 7-0 in 1983, then lost to the Raiders 40-38.

That doesnt mean that it couldnt happen this year. Those stats dont even reduce their chances. Not in the least.

I was just stating fact there.

I think you mean that it's unlikely, because there is obviously a way.

Were theres a will theres a way, don't let them stand in your way, look em straight in their face, let em know you ain't playing no games!

I see us a 12 or better win team.

I see NYG, MIA, BUF as 5 win teams and STL and CHI as 8 win teams.

So ya, we can go 5-0.

If want be in the mix we best do no worse than 4-1.

I think we'll beat New York, Miami, St. Louis. That's 3 wins.

Chicago will be a bit tough, it kinda depends which Grossman shows up.

Also I think Buffalo will be a tough away game. Of course, we can win it, but I see the atmosphere being crazy.

Of course, we have a good chance to win all of these games. Just, the probability of us winning all these games is a bit low.

In my experience as a Cowboys fan, something always seems to happen.

2005 - 4 minutes away from going 2-0
2006 - Bledsoe choked away Jags game after being up 10-0

There's always that game where you just go, "huh?". Chances are we'll have another game like that in the beginning of the year.

Since 2003 we never really did start off extremely well in the first 5 games IIRC.

We can be beaten by the worst team in the league and we can beat the best team in the league on any given day. It's that tight. Too early for record predicting for me.

Love that quip about our winning the last 5 games of the season for a change. I'd also like to see us win the first 5 games of the season. Then reality sets in including the fact there too much we don't know about each team we will play.

Wade's coaching philosophy seems to have energized the team but even more so when he instituted an aggressive defensive 34 scheme which fits the talents of our players--most of whom are young.

Jason Garrett's offensive scheme (whatever it is called) looks exciting so far because it is producing points, so many players involved in its execution & the variety of offensive schemes he brings. Let's hope he's more successful & less predictable then his predecessor.

I consider the Giant game a must win; it's against a division rival & also our home opener.
Don't know much about Miami except they supposedly have a good defense but their offense looks to be a mess unless Trent Green regains his form.

I see both games as winnable for us which means we head into Chicago for an nite game with 2-0 record unless our team is slow to obsorb all nuances of our new defensive/offensive changes.

This thread sounds like it belongs on ExtremeSkins.com

Homerism is nice, but let's keep our feet on the ground. We haven't gone 5-0since 86. That's a LONG time.

These types of posts deserve to go in the Pickle Bowl file ... where everyone was predicting 40-3 Cowboy routes.
