Can we beat Atlanta?

Yes.

The Dallas Cowboys will be competitive in every game they play this year.
We usually are, but find ways to lose about as often as we squeeze out a way to win. Until that doesn't happen any more, we can beat anyone and lose to anyone. But against good teams and Atlanta is one IMO, we have shown cannot overcome the mistakes. Our W/L percentage against playoff-caliber teams with winning records isn't good and hasn't been for the past few years.

Not if we keep making that many mental errors and turnovers. They are a SB contending team. We are pretenders right now.

How come we are pretenders when we lose to two unbeaten teams?

LOL. Why even bother playing then right? Atlanta is going to the Superbowl and can't be stopped. We are doomed! Abandon ship! Run for cover!

Posters like you are a joke. I said nothing of the sort. However, there's practically no chance this team beats Atlanta as they currently are. This isn't the Kansas City Chiefs.

what kind of a team do we have to be to win?

I have tickets to this game in Section 441. Two side by side. PM me if you're interested.

The most effective way to beat Dallas is to have the "play not to lose" mentality.

Because Dallas will eventually shoot themselves in the foot if they cant seperate from an opponent on the scoreboard.

We press to hard offensively when the games are close and when we are behind.

Right....

Remind me again, how many games have we had no chance to win this year?

The answer is.... ZERO!

Bottom line, if the offense can limit the turnovers and penalties, this team will be in every game they play this year and have a chance to win.

But, according to you, we have no chance and you can't wait for Romo to be gone (your sig), so that maybe we can have another Carter, Henson, Hutchinson experience.

No, you sir, are the joke.

...doubtful.

I think our LBs are going to have a heck of a time dealing with Gonzalez.

I believe that Ryan is a better mobile QB than Cassels is and their O-line is considerably better than the Chiefs.

It really depends on which Dallas team shows up. If it the team against the Giants maybe. If it the team that played the Panthers, Broncos and Chiefs then I am skeptical.

They will spend too much time trying to beat themselves never mind trying to get one up on the Falcons.

They have to prove it to me.

If, If, If, If, If.

This team has played poorly-to-average in stretches of every game after the season opener, and you think it's going to be enough to beat the Atlanta Falcons? I don't know if you've noticed or not, but these aren't your normal Atlanta Falcons anymore. This team is every bit as good as the Giants or Eagles. Unless Dallas plays its best game of the year on defense, it's not going to get it done.

The team that played in the 1st half yesterday---NO. The team that played in the 2nd half & OT----YES

That is pretty much what it boils down to imo.

The Dallas Texans + Dallas Cowboys ******** Twin vs Dallas Cowboys and the Cowboys won. If it's only Atlanta vs Dallas in a 1vs1 fight Cowboys could definitely win. Sadly we will be the underdogs no doubt.

If we protect the ball and limit penalties.... we can beat anyone in this league!!!! It's that simple. This team has no idea how good we can be.

We lost to two 5-0 teams on the last play literally. In those two games we lost the TO battle by a combined 6-1.

Didn't this team just need overtime to beat perhaps the worst team in the league? Didn't this team go three and out in overtime giving the hapless Chiefs the ball at midfield, leaving them only 15 yards from a FG to win?

And we are playing a team that hung almost 40 on SF?

You can't spell fanaticism without fan...

I think they are a better team than us right now, but yes we can beat them. We should be able to run it on their defense. John Abraham presents the same problems going against Flo that most DE's have.

It shouldn't blow your mind. Our defense is terrible. The Falcons quite possibly have the league's best talent at the offensive skill positions and average something like 27 points a game. Unless our defense puts forth a big-time effort, we are sunk.
Srsly??

Or did you just say "possibly" because you know it isn't true?

Inadequate pass blocking
Off target passes
Dropped passes
Inconsistent pass rush
Poor tackling

These are all factors which could cause the Cowboys to lose, but they are all correctable via execution and concentration also. The Falcons have a solid quarterback, strong running game and tough defense, but the game's outcome will be decided upon whether or not Dallas beats itself.

I know the obvious answer is "yes", just on the any given Sunday logic.

I'm asking in more general terms. Do the masses feel like we have a legit shot against the Falcons.

I haven't seen them play much, but they seem to be pretty darn good from what I have seen.

I think having two weeks helps because we'll get some injuries healed up (hopefully Roy and FJ will return). I don't think it'll matter that we have two weeks to prepare for them from a coaching stand point, because I think our coaches (Wade) just aren't very good.

So.... will we beat Atlanta?

The Cowboys can win if they become disciplined over the next two weeks. That might be asking for too much, though.

Obviously those 2 games are a great direct comparison. Kudos to you for pointing out the obvious.
I think Dallas should just take an extended bye week and forfeit. It's hopeless. After getting beat 70-3 by the incredible undefeated giants that won vs oakland 44-7 you would think the fanatics around here would learn.

we've lost 2 winnable games against undefeated teams--is it reasonable to think we can beat Atlanta a home after the bye--yes

the line will probably be Atlanta -2 (wouldn't be surprised to see it open with us favored by 1)
