Parcells has tried plenty of things. He tried to develop Quincy Carter. He gave Henson plenty of off-season work. Parcells has worked with Romo but didn't start him before Parcells thought he was ready. And Parcells has brought in veteran QBs - Testaverde was brought in to serve as Carter's mentor. Bledsoe was brought in as a stopgap to play before Henson/Romo were ready.

The pace of progress hasn't been as rapid as I'd have liked, but progress is being made.

Jerry's projects like QC and Henson or Bill's old retreads like Vinny and Drew is hardly adequately addressing the QB position. It's been four years and all we've had are these pathetic stopgaps and projects.

That's not accurate.

Quincy Carter led the Cowboys to the playoffs in Parcells' first year. Parcells invested time in him and brought Testaverde in to mentor Carter. ... and then Carter went up in smoke at the worst possible time (to late to find an adequate replacement).

And, of course, there is no basis to refer to Romo as a pathetic project. The jury is still out.
