in 2013 Belichick signed a 7 yr extension which would take him to 2019. I think it was reported in the offseason or late last yr that he signed another extension but then later was reported that he just got a raise for the 2019 season his 7th and last remaining yr.

Somehow his contract is nowhere to be found which is crazy as every contract is on the internet except for Belichicks.

But if you think about it, it makes sense to have just given him a raise, as Josh McDaniel had the Colts job already and gave it up to stay in NE. Brady signed a 2 yr extension for 2019, and 2020 with 2020 voidable.

I think Belichick is going to be available. Jerry would be a fool to not give him whatever he wanted to bring him in.

It's well known that nobody can find the specifics of Belichick's contract.

Some people now think that Belichick being complimentary of the Cowboys and Jerry being complimentary of Belichick this past week means that something is up with regards to both sides having interest in each other.

Obviously, that would be great if true; however, the most likely probability is that it's wishful thinking by Cowboys fans/media.

It would offer Belichick a new challenge and it would allow him to even further his legacy to win Super Bowls with another team and with another QB. At this point there is still the question of how much of the Patriots success is Belichick and how much has been Brady. I think and most people likely think it's much more Belichick than Brady with regards to credit, but Belichick going to anther team and winning with another QB would just put his already legendary status completely over the top in the history of coaches.

I've said before, that if the opportunity was ever available, that Jerry should offer whatever it takes to get Belichick.

Jerry should offer him a super-mega-bonus for winning a Super Bowl.

Jerry could give Belichick contract that is just above the top paid Head Coach which is probably Belichick himself, but then add in a 100 million bonus to winning a Super Bowl. Winning another Super Bowl at Jerry's age should be more important than money at this point.

Having said that, Kraft would be insane to let Belichick leave but the again, Jerry was insane to let Jimmy leave after the 93 season.

Even if Kraft and Belichick were ready to part ways, if Belichick was under contract, Kraft could "trade" him for a bounty of draft picks.

Jimmy was looking for a way out. He wanted to go back to Florida.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see belichick in Dallas

Jerry could have convinced Jimmy to stay another year or two.

Jimmy has even said that himself; however, at the time Jerry thought it was easy to win and didn't realize just how much of the winning was specific to Jimmy.

It would have taken more than money to get Jimmy to stay but it could have happened as I said for another year or two. Jerry would have had to agree to stay out of football operations as well as give Jimmy a contract that was impossible to refuse.

Obviously, Jimmy was unlikely to ever stay long term anywhere. His style burned out everyone including the players, assistant coaches, owners and even himself.

Obviously almost all NFL team owners would dump their Head Coach to hire Belichick if he was available.

Belichick would likely welcome a new type of challenge and winning a Super Bowl with the Cowboys would be the ultimate challenge.

Having said that, the probably is still extremely low that it would actually happen.

Would Kraft let Belichick get away?
Would Jerry really hire someone that will obviously get the credit for winning?
Would some other owner out bid Jerry for Belichick. Who knows that a nut job like Dan Snyder might offer.

Also, Belichick has always lived in the North East quadrant of the United States except for 1 year as an assistant coach for the Broncos.

For now, it makes good speculation for sports media/bloggers and message boards.

Some people love to proclaim "it could happen" in situations like this because it makes them feel empower and makes them feel like they know something that other people don't.

No he couldnt. Jerry and Jimmy both have said it couldnt have been fixed. Both felt disrespected and they both said they needed to part ways.

Can't we just keep this simple? Hire Sean Payton. He's a top 5 coach. We should have hired him 10 years ago.

Let's just do this and be done with it. I do not see the point of having a college coach learn the pros or getting some has been ex-Belichick staffer.

Let's just hire Sean. Pay him whatever it takes and lets start over performing instead of under performing for once.
Why would Peyton leave his current situation?

Jerry will never get any credit at all for any success the Cowboys have under SP.

So zero chance.

Why would Payton leave New Orleans for a horrible situation like Dallas? No chance this ever happens. Missed the boat on him. Painful as it is
