Can we make a trade for Jimmy Garoppolo?

Thoughts.

Throwing whatever crap that has a chance to stick onto the wall.

Maybe a 3rd that can jump to a 2 if we make playoffs.

49ers probably still wants a first or second outright.

Any other QBs on the market week two of the season :(

The 49ers have a pretty good roster and scored 10 points today with an inexperienced QB. I can't imagine why they'd give away Jimmy G for a draft pick now.

I wouldn't give up first, I would do a 3rd jumping to second if we make playoff, oh heck no on 1st. We would mess around and go 3-14 for #2 pick to 9ers. I would literally

He needs a solid season for another pay day. If he is splitting with Lance he will not be able to max out

I doubt the 49ers trade Jimmy G after today, Trey Lance looked like dog crap.

Dak is our starter for 2023 at the very least. Jerry won’t bring in anyone who might disrupt that. Dak is still owed far too much money for the Joneses to plan ahead.

I did forget about clause. We can still ask for permission to talk to him right?
Correct.

Per Schefter, the no-trade clause included in Garoppolo's contract means that if a team wants to trade for him, they simply need to include the quarterback in the discussion and get both his and the 49ers' consent.

I believe he has a no trade clause. So it’s his choice

If his team doesn't want to trade him, it's not his choice.

Why would the Niners give a flip about trading Jimmy G for a draft pick midseason? They have a good team with a questionable young QB.

You're just dreaming here.

Unfortunately, it's probably not even an option.
There is an issue that complicates a potential Garoppolo trade to Dallas. It’s way too early in the season to evaluate both Lance & the 49ers. If this were Week 7 & the Niners were 1-6, trading Garoppolo would make plenty of sense.

But at just 0-1 and with 16 games left, it’s too early to deal him. Or is it?!

+1 but maybe not when you consider how they've invested in Lance. Last thing he needs is someone looking over his shoulder. Not to mention they've openly admitted to trading Garoppolo, just could find any takers but that was before his salary was restructured. Hell, his salary is certainly not an issue now. I'll go as far as to say, there's no reason for Jerry and Stephen NOT to call. I'm guessing a 5th rounder should get it done.

Jimmy G in by trading draft capital is not a wise move besides the Rams look mortal and the Cardinals got buried in the desert like a scene from Goodfellas so the 49ers are not about to start throwing QB’s to Dallas as life preservers. They need him.

Save it for what?
To get knocked out first round of the playoffs?
If we end up with a hight draft pick and there is a QB of sufficient quality to draft, then that should be the plan going forward.
We need a difference maker at QB to try to make up for the Jones's lack of team building ability and while I doubt any QB could overcome that handicap, it's our only real chance.

I would do it for a 5th in a heartbeat I just don't feel optimistic that they will take a 5th Knowing our luck they will want a #1 they know we're desperate.
Not only that Jerry will wait to see how Cooper plays by the time they figure out Cooper is not the guy Dak will be on the mend. It is just sickening to see the same thing for 25 years. Lather Rinse Repeat
