Can we make a trade for Jimmy Garoppolo?

There are several re-threads out there that had a better first week than Dak, but at a fraction of the cost. Then there are QBs like Jimmy G sitting on benches, earning modest salaries.

None of the re-threads or bench warmers are elite QBs that will carry a team. But they are as good as Dak. So what are we paying 40m for? What added value are getting? We could have e.g. paid Mariota less than 10m per year on a 2 year contract and got the same results?

Kellen Moore and and a lack of talent on offense will bury almost any QB they could try to plug in. Only a non-realistic situation where you get someone like Mahomes or Allen would make a difference. It’s definitely hopeless for any actual realistic option.

I said it before Dak insisting on 4 yrs actually helped Dallas. It’s a small window and your into yr 2 of 4 now out with another injury .

The entire time Dak has been here nothing in the way of any meaningful competition to push # 4 has happened . Mike White was as close as that came and they instantly gave up on him . On a terrible Jets team without much of WR talent he shredded the Bengals for 450. Mims who hasn’t done anything in NY but wanted “ out “ wasn’t even in the Box score yesterday with Flacco throwing 59 passes . White obviously didn’t have much to throw to on that team .

Get some competition into this team Jerry / Stephen / Will …..

And while I’m at it this running attack is a mystery . No rhythm to it . You run effectively first series then it becomes an afterthought. The only time I saw or heard Dowdles name was on a ST penalty . Complete waste of a roster spot if in 4 quarters it’s either 21 or nothing out of that position .

Don't know why the 49ers would even trade him. They have SB aspirations. The Cowboys aren't going anywhere with or without Dak. OL is bad, the WR's are bad. The whole offense is bad.

Agree. Wish MM didn't stick w/Moore. Mahomes & Allen wouldn't make a difference with this Oline. Those two are protected Cinderella's with the lines they have.

Mahomes missed 2 Oline starters in his last SB appearance & couldn't even toss a TD. Neither of the two are any better without protection nor is any other quarterback. Don't kid yourself.

Unfortunately, it's probably not even an option.
There is an issue that complicates a potential Garoppolo trade to Dallas. It’s way too early in the season to evaluate both Lance & the 49ers. If this were Week 7 & the Niners were 1-6, trading Garoppolo would make plenty of sense.

But at just 0-1 and with 16 games left, it’s too early to deal him. Or is it?!
