Can we make a trade for Jimmy Garoppolo?

Save it for what?
To get knocked out first round of the playoffs?
If we end up with a hight draft pick and there is a QB of sufficient quality to draft, then that should be the plan going forward.
We need a difference maker at QB to try to make up for the Jones's lack of team building ability and while I doubt any QB could overcome that handicap, it's our only real chance.

Yeah, nothing to save. Horrible offensive line, no wide receivers, can’t stop the run. Injuries everywhere. Just call it quits and hope the wildcatter hits on some draft picks.

There are several re-threads out there that had a better first week than Dak, but at a fraction of the cost. Then there are QBs like Jimmy G sitting on benches, earning modest salaries.

None of the re-threads or bench warmers are elite QBs that will carry a team. But they are as good as Dak. So what are we paying 40m for? What added value are getting? We could have e.g. paid Mariota less than 10m per year on a 2 year contract and got the same results?
Mariotta is a good QB who can't stay on the field.

Jimmy G would play well enough to cause a QB controversy within the fanbase and the media.

Jerry wants no part of that.

OMG, stop w/ the kneejerk crapp.

This was a throwaway season anyway, good year to suck and get high draft picks.

Unfortunately, it's probably not even an option.
There is an issue that complicates a potential Garoppolo trade to Dallas. It’s way too early in the season to evaluate both Lance & the 49ers. If this were Week 7 & the Niners were 1-6, trading Garoppolo would make plenty of sense.

But at just 0-1 and with 16 games left, it’s too early to deal him. Or is it?!

He is as bad as Dak.

Don't know why the 49ers would even trade him. They have SB aspirations. The Cowboys aren't going anywhere with or without Dak. OL is bad, the WR's are bad. The whole offense is bad.
If they really had SB aspirations they would not trot out Trey Lance!

I would sign Cam Newton and just run the football. Let’s have a left side of Peters and Smith then run power. We can’t throw the football anyway.
I don't like Cam but that is a reasonable suggestion. But we can't even run if e keep up the penalties!

After their QB's performance on Sunday, SF is not letting Jimmy G go any time soon.

By then Dak will be back for the playoffs, right Jerry?

Might as well go with Rush and Grier at this point. May get a lucrative draft pick and don't have to give up the farm for a rental.

That game was an absolute monsoon yesterday. Driving rain and three inches of standing water on the field. No qb would have had respectable stats in those conditions. Lance isn’t going anywhere.

I don’t believe cd lamb is the number one receiver. But maybe San Francisco would like to have him

I'm not against trading Lamb, but for a bus driver QB who can't stay healthy? That would be a foolish trade.

Wait, you want Jimmy here with a wr lineup that's worse than the 2018 roster?

It ain't happening. Jerry loves Dak too much to make him uncomfortable by bringing in another QB for competition. They are gonna duke it out and wait for Dak's return. How dumb do you think it'll make Jerry look if he brings in SF QB (who we just lost to in the playoffs!) to compete against his $140M QB???

Agreed. Let's just go 0-17 get the first pick and take a quarterback. Doesn't matter though as long as Philly Jones is here. IT WON'T MATTER! Philly Jones is the REAL problem in Dallas. We're the only NFL team where the owner is the weakest link. Jerry just markets and prostitute the Dallas Cowboys. Nothing more.

27 years and Counting:facepalm:

Imagine trading Ceedee for Jimmy. Y’all say anything. Majority of this board wanted Dak to get hurt or traded/cut so you got your wishes. Who says Jimmy is even much of an upgrade over Rush. He played horrible against us in the playoffs.
