Can we talk about the Rams

weve beat the rams a few times with Donald and more talent with Garett at the helm..let that sink in..:)
And we have lost to them to. I think we can win a close one but don't think it's as much a given as people in this thread think. I could easily go either way and I still picked us to win .

Cam Akers played behind the worst offensive line in Florida State history and was an absolute monster. He's a talented kid who is shifty and can catch the ball.

I just think this game won't be a blow out win for the Cowboys. It's the first time anyone will actually be playing football.

Rams are a darn good team but this is definitely one of the games that a team with playoff aspirations should win

Game 1 is not a must win but it can definitely be a harbinger of things to come

If Dak doesn’t have time to throw, and the holes aren’t open in the run game no they won’t.

So Dak will get blitzed non stop? He won't throw quick outs to his RB's Zeke/Pollard, or one of his open WR's' or TE Jarwin? Rams if blitzing can't cover everyone.

Some of you will be begging to bring Garrett back if we lose.

As long as the Rams don't gouge our run defense like in 2019, I'll be happy.

The Rams had 22 rushing yards against the Cowboys in the game they played during the 2019 season.

First game of the season and it's a must win game

Hahahahaha

This place never ceases to amaze. This thread should be shut down just for that ridiculous comment

The game I was referring to took place on January 12, 2019. In that game, C. J. Anderson rushed for 123 yards and 2 TDs and Todd Gurley rushed for 115 yards and another TD.

Did you forget that one? I wish I could.

235 I remember it like it was yesterday. That game was all about our weakness at the DT position and the unwillingness of our coaching staff to adjust.

Yep! Big playoff game and the Cowboys struggled to do anything. People say oh Dak outplayed Goff. Well I guess you could say that if you look at only yards but Goff converted key 3rd downs unlike Dak. Zeke was getting shut down and Dak couldnt convert 3rd downs just to give the defense a breather from being on the field. The Rams took their foot off Dallas throat after they were up 20-7 at half. Daks garbage time stats took the finger pointing off of him. The game last year against the Rams was right after the Rams lost a game to eliminate them from the playoffs and they were naturally soft and unmotivated. I have that Rams playoff game in a file with Denver, Falcons, Chargers, Saints, Jets, Bills, Bears and Eagles where Ive never seen an NFL QB who wants to be one of the highest paid QB have so many stinker games.

You don't think that 235 rushing yards had anything to do with our defense not getting a breather? Or keeping our offense from establishing any rhythm? It's all Dak? Really?

Yep. You speak the truth. blueblood70's avatar here of 22-3 td/int ratio and 7-2 record vs. non winning teams contrasted by 8-8 td/int and 1-6 record surely gets pawned off on "the defense, special teams, oline, Zeke or coaching" by the usual list of suspects here. All the while disregarding who touches every single snap and supposedly is not a manager but a franchise guy if they even understand what separates a franchise guy. But as for accountability convenience and as circumstances dictate, it reverts back to "team" unless circumstances allow(like a win over a cupcake) into individual stats being touted.

It's standard operating procedure. Nothing new to see here, lol

Go Cowboys

I don't think there is any reason to be scared of the Rams. They aren't stout top to bottom.

Can they beat you? Sure. Especially in the first game of the season.

If our RT wasn't MIA, I wouldn't have any concerns. It will still likely come down to which team is most prepared to play a real game and thus doesn't make all the back breaking mistakes that are usually made in preseason games. This coaching staff seems to understand how to prepare & how to create advantages so I am much more confident that we will be ready for a season opener than I have been in a decade.

40million dollar bus driver coming up..can I get a hoorah!

The Dallas Cowboys are trending on Twitter this morning. I can't say why, but some folks aren't going to like it.

Me? I'm just looking forward to the game.

Wow. We are already in must win game mode on week 1?

I tend to disagree. Seahawks are a tough team also no doubt about it. But the cowboys are catching a break in that there will be no 12th man at Seattle this year.

one week out and the Rams game to me is a must win. If they lose this game they have potential to pull an 0 for september. The rams are young and in transition. They have two good wr and a good tight end. They have an offensive line that is middle of the road. Their defense looks to be like ours in the middle of big changes. Very weak at linebacker, good on the defensive line and ok in the secondary.

They are running a new defensive scheme. Like Dallas getting ready to play them will be a challenge. I mistakenly thought they had hired Joe Barry as DC having not paid much attention. They actually hired Brandon Staley as DC and they are staying in the 3-4 and running Vic Fangio's scheme. They have a good group up front when they go nickel defense. They have donald, brockers, ekubam and Floyd. That is pretty good and will challenge this offensive line.

This game has serious potential to be a sloppy game that comes down to whoever has the ball last. That didn't go well for Dallas at all last year. The OC and QB here came up short everytime they needed them to go win the game. Hopefully something has changed there this year.

I imagine a lot of penalties, poor tackling and lots of communication issues for all teams in the first week or two of the league. With both Dallas and LA having new defensive schemes and a number of new players this just feels like a game that will be a mess.

if Ramsey takes gallup out of the game and they double cooper this could be a long day for the offense. Will Cooper even play? David Helman mentioned yesterday that he thinks xavier woods could also end up on IR after this weekend because he is injured also.

From April to August Dallas has been promoted as this uber talented team with a new coaching staff that was going to make said talent that much better. I heard that Bobby Belt character on the fan yesterday say the cowboys are one of the three most talented rosters in the league....Give me a break.....

BS season is over and they have to play a game in 7 days and I am not sure they are as talented as they have said they are. I can really see a scenario where the east is just a toss up when we get to December. All four teams are similar and have injuries and weaknesses.

anyway the Rams look to be in transition and have low expectations with the quality of San Francisco and Seattle in front of them...plus wherever Arizona shakes out in the end. Dallas has talked about a super bowl since April because they drafted a wr, now the games are ready to begin. Dallas Has to win this game. I feel like Dallas defense is going to be in for a long day versus seattle, atlanta and cleveland so this is a must win game.

i am not going to give a Platinum guarantee that we win...but this covid season makes home field not so much an advantage...i like our chances against rams..we opened -2.5...i am just concerned at offensive line especially tackle and

or course now our secondary with woods up in the air and it was shaky to begin with...also teams are not conditioned much for full on tackling so that and not being in game shape i am concerned about injuries during the game...

we stayed pretty healthy last year and the wheels would come off...if we had only gone .500 in one score games we would have been 11-5...so i am hoping new regime corrects our lack of adjusting during game..all in all i like our chances
