Can We Talk Rams Now?

It will probably be close. The Rams kept it close against the Falcons in Atlanta after being down 21-0. Most NFL games are close nowadays that's just the way it is. I think we will get a turnover or two this week

Great point. I was surprised to see they came back on the Falcons. I didn't watch that game to know how that happened.

I definitely don't think the Cowboys will roll over them. I was way off thinking that last weekend.

Sorry bout that.

This was the September game I have been worried about all along. Losing to kc just makes it more important.

No need to apologize, you make great points. And I remember you saying the same prior to the KC game. It's just now you've got me all depressed at the possibility, too. It's getting to the point where the whole schedule looks like a toss-up. And not just for the Cowboys. Games like PHI v. SD and MIN v. CLE are too close to call, or end up going the opposite of how you think they're going to go. It's tough to tell from one week to the next.

Like I said last week, it's all on the Offense. If they start quick and can actually sustain some sort of rhythm, I think we'll be fine. If not, gonna be another long weekend.

It'd be nice to actually come out for once and look like we've got a gameplan that consists of taking advantage of the opponents weaknesses. I've never seen a team less prepared to attack the weaknesses of the teams they play against than the Cowboys, every week looks the same.

Its what the NFL has been trying to produce for two decades: A toss up league.

They have a great D. We have to take advantage of the size difference dez has over Finnegan and Jenkins.
Plus they are weakest a the safety position.

Other tHan that its formidable on paper.

Chris long, Robert Quinn, James laurentitis, Alec ogletree, Michael Brockers all young and talented

Hate to say it, But, I see Dallas losing this one. Rams defense plays tough, not in the beginning of a game. They are slow starters. Unfortunately, Dallas doesn't have a team that "should" beat the Rams. If Dallas doesn't get up early and stay up... It's over. Dallas has shown early in this season the lack of holding leads or coming back from trailing to win.

LOL at the Rams defense being tough. They've given up 300 yards passing in each game this season. Like I said you along with others are completely overhyping the Rams. This might be a close game or might be for a while but I'm expecting a Cowboys win.

Didn't see a game thread it's probably buried underneath the avalanche of coulda woulda shouldas from the KC game.

But isn't it time to move on we've all said all we can say about the last game.

This one is actually bigger - conference opponent, staying over .500, and defending home turf.

Our D has improved each game and will be challenged here by a Rams team that is well coached and moves the ball pretty well. They hung in there when getting beat bad early in Atlanta and made a close game of it.

But I think our Oline has their best game yet - Waters will be worked in almost fulltime and Tfred and Leary are growing each week and learning from their mistakes. No doubt we will force the run more and I think Murray can have his first breakout game this Sunday.

Sorry to say but Callahan might be the Rams secret sauce.
This past sorry running game will be No. 1 on Callahan's to-do list. And the result will be pounding our collective heads against the wall and Murray grounding out less than 100 yards. In the meantime, the passing game has to suffer.

Pick your poison, boys, go to the ground game that aint working or pass without the ground game and get smothered consistently by the secondary all afternoon long.

Not liking the way this season is shaping up. The absence of a ground game was a shock to me.
On the bright side, the defense is putting up a good fight. I will take anything at this point. Oh, Bailey is anotehr bright spot. The other bright spot is Kiffy's pate, when the sun is out.

I wish I had a better handle on why it seems to take our offense so much time to hit its stride in a season. Especially when we're getting good pass protection. We're not playing all that bad, offensively, but we've got the potential to put so much pressure on a defense, and we're just not doing it yet.

Its what the NFL has been trying to produce for two decades: A toss up league.

I know. I go back and forth over hating it and enjoying it. I hate it for the Cowboys sake, because it's so hard to build a consistent winner under these rules. I do have to admit that I like there being some doubt about games I'd otherwise have no interest in at all. When you're intrigued by STL v. AZ, you're probably doing something right.

What is so bizarre is how our offense is our weakness. It's unbelievable.

There is no way we should be struggling with this group of players. We got a line that gives our QB time, a QB that can buy time, and great skill players.

I just don't get it and I put it on the coaches. There is no way that Garrett and Callahan are getting the most out of these guys.

I wish we would've gone after Andy Reid this offseason.

The Rams have a very, very dangerous pass rush. We are going to need the offensive line to play its best game of the season to win this game, both in terms of protecting Romo in obvious passing situations, and eliminating obvious passing situations by gaining yardage on 1st/2nd down running the ball. The Rams are not flawless but the sledding does not get any less tough this week.

Quinn is having a break-out year at DE. He has 4 sacks already. Very tough test for Smith and Free, along with Chris Long on the other side.

Rodger Saffold will miss this game. Selvie should continue his strong play against backup T Joe Barksdale.

I'm not as down on the coaches as you are, because I think the coaches are really good. But I'm perplexed by the offensive production, too. It looks to me like we've got all the parts we should need to be successful. Well, not just successful, but really successful. And we're just not getting it done. Ultimately, that goes to the HC and his coordinators, but, in terms of the day-to-day operations of the club, it's not obvious to me that the problem is with the game plans or the play calls. I don't know what it is. We're not running the ball enough in situations where you've got to run the ball. That's part of it, but then, I'm not seeing a ton of yards left on the field on running downs, either. I know people say that when they want to run it more and the running game isn't working, but it's just not what I've seen in the games. Perhaps when I rewatch the KC game it'll be more apparent.

It might be something as simple as being more committed to running the ball when we have to and letting the RBs get into some rhythm. Or it might be that we've shied away from that because of some inopportune fumbling and an unwillingness to be in 3rd in long against a blitzing team in a hostile environment. Maybe it's just the game situations we've seen so far really early. I don't know. But it is confusing why we're not more effective on offense given the personnel we've got available right now and how good a player the QB is.

I think this will be Tyron's toughest test for the early portion of this schedule. Free looked great against Houston and Hali last week. With the talk of the running game woes I'm sure Callahan will make it a point to emphasize it this week.

I wish we would activate Randle over Tanner. I'd like to see what Randle could do. Seemed like Demarco missed some running lanes on Sun.

Nothing the Cowboys have shown me insists otherwise at the moment.. I am hoping and praying for a win for the Cowboys... Expecting? hahah This team has proved nothing to "expect" a win. I am not overhyping the Rams at all. I am not believing in the Cowboys at the moment.

And, if we are going by the "stats" , I believe the Cowboys/Rams are about equal in that sense.

Look no further than Yards Per Attempt. Romo is averaging 6.1 yards per attempt which is 26th in the league while he has the highest completion percentage in the league. Translation - Dink and Dunk. These stats reflect what everyone is seeing on the field.

You may get your wish on Randle, I am sure some changes are in store one way or the other, and I agree it's time to give Randle the rock and see what he can do.

I would agree if it weren't the same old story year after year.

Play Calling always seems in question.

Running the ball always seems in question.

Red Zone efficiency always seems in question.

Why does our 2nd round TE always seem so un-involved seems in question.

Lack of creativity always seems in question.

All signs point to the Offensive coaches and their system.

Another guy I'd like to see active is TE Andre Smith, the best blocking TE of the bunch. He might be able to provide some help in the running game.
