Can WRs Roy Williams or Chad Johnson provide a "deep threat"?

I don't think it would cost a #1 to get either Ocho Cinco, or Roy Williams. I'm guessing a third will get it done.
Considering where we draft in each round, a 2nd won't get either player. We would have to add either another pick or a player. Both teams will start out asking for our #28 overall. To offer a 3rd for either player would be an insult.

I seriously doubt Chad Johnson will be in Dallas in 2008... I think Roy Williams is a better possibility.

Pass on Ocho Cinco. Older players who I think are in decline don't interest me that much. If the cost is going to be anywhere near the same I'd much rather go for the younger player.

I think a 2nd and 3rd would be fine for a trade, especially for teams like Detroit or Cincy, that need a lot of help on D to compete. I'm not saying that this is a deep defensive draft, but both teams have several holes in their defenses.

I'd be on board with that if the picks were split between 08 and 09.

I agree that it does not have to be a first round pick to get either one of them. However it might make more sense for us to trade the first. If we do not feel that a player we truly want is there for the value there will be quality backs in the second round that we can look at. A #28 for Roy would fit very nicely with a cason pick and Charles. The UT boy belongs in a cowboy uniform.

Either of those guys would EASILY be deep threats with a guy like T.O. lined up on the other side of the field from them.

Now I agree with Ramp that I think Williams is more likely to wind up here next year but if thats the case it's cause we're signing him instead of extending T.O. Either that or we're signing him and letting Newman walk. I just dont think you can resign T.O., Newman and then sign Roy Williams as well.

Chad Johnson isn't going to wind up here. His coach was on NFLnetwork tonight once again making it perfectly clear that they will not trade Chad Johnson. He even compared this situation to the Kobe one from last offseason when he wanted out of LA and they didn't get him moved and he had to comeback and play where he previously didn't want to be anymore.

Chad Johnson is not getting out of Cincy.
