Called and tried to get a discount. They'd give me $20 off for 6 months. Well you know what, I needed Sunday Ticket for a WHOPPING 4 or 5 'boys games the LAST TWO years. And they recently put in Buffalo Wings and Rings which told me they'd have the Sunday Ticket package showing games on the 20 or so TV's screens. So who needs Sunday Ticket. Even if I have to go to watch 5 games there I'm still saving money. Screw DirecTV, been a loyal customer for over 10 years buying Sunday Ticket every year at full price. May even take the money I save and put it towards buying my way out the contract I'm in.

It all depends where you live. If you live in an area with Cowboys game broadcasted usually then don't get the ticket. If you live in New York where not too many Cowboys games are broadcasted then it's amazing.

Still debating on getting the NFL ticket. I have been a loyal BWW customer at the same location for the last 8 years, but I am about to buy a new 55" plasma and surround sound system, plus I live 30 minutes from that BWW now. Not sure what to do. I just love the atmosphere at the sports bars on Sunday. You can't really get that at home!

This.

Or you could just watch the games when the sites showing them live are posted up on the cowboyszone?

How are you under contract with DirecTV if you've been a customer for 10 years? I've had it for 7 years, and if I was ever under contract it was for the first year or two at the most. Also, you must've talked to the wrong person, because after they tried to offer me $60 off, I pushed a little harder and got the whole thing free.

That's going to be trickier this year as many of those sites were shut down by the federal government.

JustinTV might work but they are pretty vigilant about illegal streams much of the time.

My DVR died earlier this year. It was bought and paid for by me years ago. Didn't have the money to buy a replacement. When I called, they sold me on a free HD upgrade with a free HD DVR, 3 free months of HD, etc. But I had to agree to 2 years worth of service. :(

Exactly. I live in Atlanta, so they play about 6 games nationally a year, and I get those from home. Anything else, I have to head out to the sports bar to watch.

If you figure you get a beer, some wings and a tip, thats about $25 bucks or so.

25x16= 400 bucks.

For me, it's much cheaper to order ST.

However, if I lived in TX, where I got every game for the most part, then I completely understand not wanting it.

Weird. I live in Indiana. Get the stations out of Indianapolis on DirecTV and the last couple seasons they've almost always broadcast the game. Which is surprising, I'd think I'd see more Bears or Packers. Colts are always on.

Considering the Packers having won the SB and me canceling ST, my guess is they won't show very many games this year.

I live in Texas but still got my NFL Sunday Ticket just cause football is here and payin 34.99 for Direct TV the NFL Sunday Ticket comes free when you purchase a package!

Never understood why people factor in the costs of food if they were going out and not factoring in the cost of food they eat at home while they watch the game.

ST + Food + Drinks on gameday costs more than No ST and food at whatever place you go to.

I live in PA and maybe three games a year aren't on tv here. I'd never buy the ticket.

I can feed my family on less than $10 plus the $20 per week ST charge. That is $30 for a Sunday of football at home.

If I take my family out it will be a minimum of $40 for the four of us. Add in the inconvenience of games starting at 10am on the west coast and ST easily beat taking the family out where I can't hear game audio anyways.

You underestimate the power of the CowboyZone members.

lol JustinTV... You'll be dissapointed. That much is fact if you go that route and I'll leave it at that.

anyhoo best solution is just sack up and move to Dallas. I think it's cheaper to relocate than to order Sunday Ticket anyway. Of course you'll have to find a way to make ends meet Monday through Saturday, but that'll just make Sundays that much more worth the hassle..

Well if you're feeding multiple people of course it may not be as practical. But then again, with a family you're also likely paying more for your DTV setup.

So Direct TV came for an installation today. Said they couldn't get a signal due to my apartment location (Bottom floor) without installing a 10 foot metal pole in the grass (which is not allowed, only on the balcony, not on apartment grounds).

Tons of people have it, but I guess my apartment in particular doesn't get signal.

So I can't get direct tv.

I only wanted it for NFL sunday ticket. I was hoping there is a way to order Sunday Ticket To-Go as a package, but you can't get it without having sunday ticket. And you can't get sunday ticket without getting a signal.

So my choice is either pay for Direct TV and not get ANY tv at all, but have sunday ticket to-go or just not have direct TV.

I wish they had an option where you could JUST pay for the online service.

This sucks. Im bummed out now. Back to the sports bar every sunday for me :(
