Fans still enjoy talking about whether or not Dez Bryant caught the ball in Green Bay and how far the Cowboys could have gone if they would’ve scored on that fourth-quarter drive.

The players and coaches, however, have moved on.

“We don’t think about last year,” Tony Romo said. “Now, it’s a whole new team. We got to build and we got to figure out what this group is going to be good at, who’s going to play, who has gotten better and where they’re going to fit in. There’s a lot of things we got to do. But we got to start over. You don’t build off anything.”

Well, even though the Cowboys quarterback might not want to talk about the team’s improbable year, which included a playoff win, a division title and a 12-win regular season, his wife had no problem sharing her thoughts recently.

“Half way through, I was like, this feels really good. I didn’t know a season could be this fun,” Candice Romo said during an NBC 5 interview that aired Tuesday night. “That’s always how it works when expectations are low. It gives you room to surprise people. It was just a really memorable year.”

Candice is teaming up with other Cowboys wives for a fashion charity event Thursday night in Addison. You can click here for more details.

Here are some of the other highlights from the interview.

On criticism her husband has received:

“As a wife, what’s hard is I love him so much and what he does and everything about him, but you want everybody else to love your husband just as much as you do. People don’t get to see his funny side and off the field personality and what he does at home.”

On handling losses:

“He wants to escape after a loss. Usually our escape of choice is movies. We are big movie people.”

On what their two sons think about their dad:

“To them, daddy is daddy. They don’t know him as the quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys. They probably shouldn’t. They probably will never see him in that way. It’s going to be such a blip on the radar in our kids’ lives. I’m pushing it a lot and trying to highlight it a lot so they have some memories of it.”

I think a lot of us felt that way last season. Even those of us who had witnessed it before, years ago.

“He wants to escape after a loss. Usually our escape of choice is movies."

Me too. Cowboys lose the early game and Sunday afternoon, I'm usually smarting at a movie with my jersey on.

Remember a few years ago when Tony was crucified for saying something like if this is as tough as life gets, life is ok. He wasn't seeing her at the time but this is what he had in mind, I think. If your life at home is solid, you will be amazing at work. Especially if you love work. Tony will be just fine. Great looking family.
