Eagles did not miss the playoffs last year. They went to Tampa Bay and were eliminated in the wild card round, as were the Cowboys.

Yeah when asked about team building Stephen avoided talking about the Philly model but tried to compare the Cowboys to the Chiefs model which is comprised of building through the draft.

Almost every fan on this site, and probably the entire fanbase as a whole (well, except for Gameover lmao) understands the culture is rotten to the core in Dallas.

Well it will be a steep uphill battle but at least Schotty recognizes the importance of culture and will try to build that. He alluded to that in his press conference. Being aware and doing something about it are 2 different things though. We’ll see.

As I'm sure you know, a roster has 53 guys, not just a few "stars". You can't build a successful team without the entire team, from starters to reserves, to coaches, to backroom staff. And a selfless, team-first culture makes all the difference. None of the last two phrases could accurately describe JJ or the Cowboys.

Uhhh some of us do. I have been calling out people like D Flaw, J Smooth, T Diggs, Zeke, Dez, Dak, Martin, etc. for years. Mostly I just get blasted for it. I understand the reaction. These are our "stars". These are our "favorite" players. The reality is that these guys are not the type of people that are going to support the coaching staff. They are not the type of people to hold their teammates to a higher standard. They are not the type of people that are going to set a high bar for what is acceptable in terms of preparation. Yet we love them anyway and we make them the highest paid players on the team. We get what we deserve.

losing the starting RB , TE, center, quality defensive line depth, and they’ve lost about 4 Wr since 2021. Full and proper context to the whine fest is needed. The past two drafts were substandard and could not help offset the losses the Cowboys have endured the last few years.

We need a home run in the draft Jerry . We need a 2018 draft(very underrated draft) at least

What made them great this year is a roster without any glaring weaknesses. Is there a team in the league with a strong combination of offensive and defensive lines? Maybe the Lions when healthy?

The Eagles have tremendous balance. The can play offense and defense. They are dominant on the line of scrimmage. They have playmakers on offense and defense. I know we as Cowboys fans hate to admit it, but the Eagles may be the best team all around in the salary CAP era. Give them credit for doing things right. But keep in mind last year how they fell apart down the stretch. The weak link on this team is Jalen Hurts. When he plays well, they are unbeatable. But he has been known to go into funks and play poorly. When he does, despite all their talent, the Eagles lose. The reason they got Barkley, I think, was to take the game out of Hurts' hands.

The Eagles have done a masterful job of putting together their team. Almost everything they have done over the last 3 years has worked out for them. Give them credit.

Every team loses players in free agency. Smart teams and GMs plan ahead, since they know who their own FAs are going to be and their relative value to the team.
