Can't even stand to look at McCarthy anymore

really can’t blame any of that crap on him. Just poor individual play by a few players.

FAT Mike looks like Edgar from Men in Black. I can't even stomach seeing this guys fat face on TV anymore. He looks like a fat hillbilly who got his last big payday and is enjoying retirement on a fishing boat. Of course leave it up to this franchise to waste another year of talent(minus a QB). FYI the running game was going with Pollard and Davis but they still had Dak throw the ball 46 times. What a joke of a team, what a joke of a franchise. They aren't going anywhere this year, MM will lose his job by seasons end and then we will have to wait an additional 3-4 years of this FRAUD of a QB to be done here while wasting precious/prime years of Micah, Sammy Will, Cee Dee and Diggs careers. Poor Zach Martin. Feel bad for a guy like him, JG his whole career now this joke. WOW, just sad.

Exactly. It's ultimately a no win proposition for any HC or QB1 here. But even with that said, I still can't let the HC and QB1 position holders not share in the responsibility of sucking at their jobs.
Is the task at hand for any HC or QB1 here to be able to win/overcome "in spite" of management's undermining/meddling?

The answer is yes.

This is a huge part of being the HC and QB1 of the Dallas Cowboys.

Are there ANY head coaches or QB1s out there that can win the Jones Way?

I dont know but it sure ain't McCarthy and Dak.

I'm not sure about that. I think Mike overall does well. I do wish he'd defer the opening kickoff. However, and maybe this is because I don't know what success with the Cowboys looks like, I think Mike has done well overall. He was brilliant when we were without Dak. His ability to keep the team fighting is fantastic imo. I know it's not saying much, but Garrett was the coach for about half my tenure as a Cowboys fan, and Mike has been significantly better than Garrett imo as he's been doing more with less in less time. In his first three seasons, we've had one losing season in a year when we had extremely bad luck, a very good season last year with a 12-5 record, and he's gotten us to a winning record so far this year. Since I became a fan, that is one of the best starts that I've witnessed with maybe Wade Phillips being the top spot. So, I will defend Mike on that front as, imo, he's delivered on being one of the better coaches that I've seen us with.

I think that, if he gets us a better OC and if we can stop the run better, I don't see why Mike isn't the answer. Dak, I'm torn on. I like Dak and supported his extension. That was, in fairness, out of necessity. Our defence was horrid and we didn't really have a good alternative. That being said, I have expected more from him and, unlike Mike, he's not delivered. He's so inconsistent that it's annoying. One week, he looks amazing. Then another week, he is bad. I've noticed that, when it's cold especially, he's not as good on the road as he is at home. That's not good, especially since we are likely going to be playing on the road in the playoffs.

I think either this draft or the next one, we should draft a QB. Not to start immediately. However, we could have the QB sit for a season or two, and then see what he's capable after being groomed as the starter once Dak leaves. Plus, it'd give him more competition. I think we have the right answer at coach, and we have a good choice at QB. But, we do need the QB to be more consistent.

Got to agree we weren't mentally or physically prepared for Green Bay and had a bi-week to do it.
Again nine penalties for 83 yd and a bunch of unsportsman like conduct penalties.

That along with our receivers and quarterback not being on the same page after having a bye week to get it right leading to turnovers that killed us.

Watching our coaching staff yesterday was desperate and sad

Nailed it.

Mike Wins then would call him Slim Mike.. Your Rhetoric is why SAS Hate Fans Like You... Granted, Mike may not be here next year but attacking his Personal Looks is totally uncalled for.. Sick Dude..

I mean nothing personal and am not some Frisco Star Insider with hidden cameras at the facilities so this is just my opinion.

I do not think McCarthy has active involvement with offensive or defensive game planning. I see this team as being coached by its 3 coordinators with the HC's input limited to gameday decisions of time outs and when to go for it on 4th down

I do not think a coach should take this job if he can't handle inheriting Jerry's second Garrett project aka K. Moore. No one put a gun to McCarthy's head to take this job.

This Jerry Thou shalt not touch Kellen's offense BS is just that. BS.
If the kid is struggling as an OC kick him the hell outta the way and call plays like your SB winning job resume shows you once did.

If he's too scared to do that, I've got no use for him as a HC.

Just my opinion bro, nothing personal against yours

Dak, is his own separate forum topic here.
I'm not his biggest fan either.

Oh, nothing personal taken. Just giving my opinion as well. I have no insider info either. I'd love for him to kick Kellen out the way, and I've said for a while that I think he should use his experience to take more control of the playcalling. However, on the same token, I think he's overall doing well. The biggest reason, I suppose, that I don't want him binned is because I have a hunch we are going to go back to puppets if we do bin Mike. As stated in another thread, I wonder if Jerry is sabotaging Mike so that way he can try to make the argument to us fans that he tried it out way, and it's back to his way of yes man coaches.

Funny how that works, and I'm sure none is more surprised by this than McCarthy himself. It is a complete 180 degree turn from what he experienced as GB coach.

Yup, now he knows what it felt like with the Dez play. Maybe now he will see the double standard and maybe use his challenge flag more.

Not sure if it is McCarthy's fault that Dak came out chucking the ball in the dirt and over people's heads or that the defense is getting completely shredded vs the run.

I like Dak but he has been in the league too long for these types of starts in big games.

  • Did McCarthy hire Kellen Moore? Did he want Moore? Did he have any say?
  • Why would McCarthy want to retain Moore instead of hiring a known-winner? You know the answer.
  • McCarthy is just another toothless lion in a long line of puppet head coaches in Dallas.
  • Did Wade Phillips want Jason Garrett as his OC? It didn't matter because the fuhrer hired Garrett before selecting Phillips as the hc.
Actually MM wanted KM, didn’t want Dak to have to learn a new O. What’s sad is MM still hasn’t learned the O . MM is a yes man but that is the only type coach Jerry wants. MM knew what to say to Jerry to get the job, Daks elite, what pick you made”, “yes Jerry “ and “what ever you say”.

I find his mouth smack more annoying than anything.

It doesn't matter...he is done in January so no need to worry. He is a nice guy and overall more interesting than Garrett but he's just in over his head. The team is better in some aspects but still lacking overall in what it takes to be a true contender.

Cool then.
But while you say going back to puppets as if to say McCarthy isn't already one. He is here to pad his retirement portfolio by cashing Jerry's checks and doing it Jerry's way.
He epitomizes the term puppet imo.

I can't see Jerry hiring a non puppet type at this point.

Maybe, but I see Mike being a bit beyond that. I see him as a bit of a hybrid in that sense. I think he's portrayed as not being a puppet (Wade and JG were puppets of course) as he seems to be given a bit more latitude. But, in terms of the OC bit, I think he's sort of in a semi-puppet situation in that he can't touch Moore, who I think Jerry sees as his next yes man coach. I think Moore is the next HC. I hate it. I want defence cuz I'm bored with offensive coaches, but I can just see it. That's why Moore's not been binned. I think he's been made out to be this next brilliant young HC, but he's just another Jason Garrett who is Jerry's idea of a good coach when he's bored with Mike and makes the argument that nonpuppets don't work.

Yep, exactly.
And the still not knowing the offense after 3 years is not exactly impressive, lol

How did his offseason quotes go again?
Fix penalties, I'll be more involved in the offense and we will run the ball.
And here we are AGAIN.

Too funny

Yep, can't say I disagree with ya there bro.
The infamous Jones Master Plan to prove all his naysayers wrong that he truly is a Football Guy because his handpicked coach is gonna succeed. THIS time, lol.

The Jason Garrett Redemption project Part II starring Kellen Moore.

I actually believe this too.

Exactly, he heard for the longest time how bad we thought Garrett was and how much of a dimwit he was for keeping Garrett around. So, Mike is being hung out to dry on FAs (he never skimped with Garrett, did he?) Imo so that he can have an excuse to say that "real coaches" are unsuccessful, so he was right all along with Garrett. He can't rehire Garrett, but he can elevate Moore. If he does that, I think that'll be his last HC as owner because I don't think he's ever letting go of Moore. I suggest Moore learn how to clap lol.
