It would be nice if McClain could be the full-time 1-tech. I remember Marinelli liking him more as a hybrid 3/1-tech. He was even the starting 3-tech early in the preseason when Melton was out and Crawford was still a SDE. That's why I said Marinelli likes having one true 1-tech on the roster (i.e. Hayden). It would be nice if McClain became the full-time 1-tech and made Hayden expendable. And even if Brent could get 10-15 snaps, like someone else said, that would be nice too. Basically any scenario where Hayden isn't playing 35+ snaps a game.

Terrell McClain was contracted by us to be our starting 1 tech.

If he was consistently healthy Hayden would be backing him up in that spot.

Unfortunately Terrell McClain has showed us no consistency of health.

He gets more pressure than Selvie and you move Mincey to Selvies side like stated in my post ;)

DeMarcus Lawrence plays Mincey's current side as Mincey moves over.

Mincey is the closest 3 down DE we have on this team not including a recovering Spencer.

Run stopping yes.....pass rushing no......his pressures are meaningless pressures that don't effect the play.

Looking forward to this D line after the bye:

T. Crawford
Melton
DLaw
Brent

I think the best we can do right now is Crawford and Melton at DT/ DLaw and Mincey at DE. Brent is a huge question mark. Dude hasn't played in a long time. If by some miracle he recovers his pre-prison form, I'd love to see him and Melton in the middle with Crawford and DLaw on the ends.

not impressed. brent has been out of football for 1.5 years now. what do you expect to get from him? D-Law is a rookie who albeit looking good is still a rookie paying probably the toughest position on defense and oh yeah he missed half the training camp and season.

t-Crawford is a good guy. hustle player but limited. he is a role player at best.

I know Brent is a question mark, but there's a reason that the front office signed him to a year extension before even seeing him play a snap this year, that's all.

How can pressure be meaningless. By definition, the QB still has the ball in his hands if the defender is credited with a pressure.

Yeah, they remember how good he could have been and they have nothing to lose signing him to a minimum contract to take a look and see if he can regain that form.

Was Mincey's pressure that forced Fitzpatrick to throw an incomplete pass on 3rd down in overtime vs. Houston meaningless? (No, it forced a punt. Dallas then drove down and kicked the game winning FG.)

Was Mincey's pressure that forced Russ Wilson to throw an incomplete pass on 4th down late in the 4th quarter meaningless? (No, it should've been a game clinching pressure had Tyron not been called for holding on the ensuing Cowboys possession.)

Was Mincey's 3rd down sack on Colt McCoy with 2 minutes left meaningless? (It knocked the Skins out of FG range and gave the Cowboys a chance to win the game in regulation.)

Those are just off the top of my head. Mincey's had some huge plays at critical moments.

Cause most of the better pass rushers can at least get to the QB to seal the deal and get a sack or pressure them into running out or a throw away....when Mincey gets pressures the qb easily out runs him into the open field. There is a reason why the Cowboys are pushing to get Lawrence in there over him. Listen, I am not saying he sucks, I just want what we need from that position and thats a dominate pass rusher and I hope that Lawrence is that because so far he hasn't shown much

Jesus, hate to see what you get people for Christmas.

why? because I have a realistic view of things as opposed to fantasy football? if you don't properly assess your players, then you make mistakes in addressing the issues for the team.

What other DE on this team do we have that is getting more pressure?

We have what we have in this rotation and at this point Mincey is creating the most pressure from the DE position.

Just starting off a comment in a Dline topic (who has "nobodies") but is 7-3 with "not impressed." lol. I thought I was pessimistic. I feel ya, though. We haven't had a lot of consistency in ANYTHING for years, so I get it.

Selivie has been coming through as of late
