I'm just hoping beyond hope that Dumb n Dumber finally saw the difference a player like Hankins makes. Dude was a major force. It wasn't an accident that we stymied SF's run game in the playoffs. When was the last time that happened? 09 maybe?

Zeke stays.

Just going by what Stephen said.
Depressing listening to that boob talk about it. Now when they approach Zeke for a pay cut his agent is gonna say, “But Stephen, a few weeks ago you talked about how important he was and maybe even more vita to you than Pollard…”

The Jones don’t know when to shut the hell up.

I think people are going to be surprised; we do have money to work with. We have plenty of free agents, but the executive of the year is not one of them. He’ll be able to retool
It's already started w/ trading up for Davis and having two 1sts in the next draft.

Eagles already have the next C in Jurgens, and have younger players all over the OL.

Gotta look forward while drafting instead of simply filling holes.

You don’t have that much money to work with. There aren’t a lot of contracts that can be logically restructured.

They are gonna have to make choices. Cox or Hargrave. CJGJ or Bradberry. What to do with Graham? Seumalo?

They can’t keep all those guys.

What they will do and what everyone wants them to do are likely very different things.

Dallas' ace in the hole for the past decade or so has been the draft. I just hope the team does really well there and doesn't screw up too bad with contract decisions. My wish is to get a good disruptive DT and a quality RB.

My only red line is Zeke. Him coming back at all is concerning. Him getting $4m per year or more in salary on top of his continuing bonus cap hit is outright asinine.

I don't want to see them give Dak a big extension but its so likely that I have come to grips with it. The alternative is likely to just give up on the team and stop following.

Just Slay and Lane Johnson restructures and suddenly we have over 30m$ in cap space. Because of how void money is accelerating, it will be cheaper to bring Brandon Graham back then cut him and sign a cheap replacement. Javon Hargrave is similar but to a lesser degree. We delay 5m$ in dead money by re-signing him; that will ease the new contract hit a bit.

And then Cam Jurgens is already talking about playing next to Kelce next season if he comes back. There’s the Seumalo replacement and the line stays intact. Kelce has 10m$ in dead money that can be pushed back by convincing him to come back. So a 1 year, 15m$ contract ends up only being a 5m$ swing.

CJGJ then becomes priority with the money left. Howie will figure out some stuff

You already have Hargrave's replacement in Davis.

Yeah but Davis is a true nose tackle, Hargrave is a hybrid that can play 3-tech. So his value is doubly worth keeping around as he can both be Cox’s replacement AND spell Davis when Milton Williams comes on

Prepare to be surprised.

It is actually cheaper for all those guys to be extended, then to be Let go. Void years allows you to kick the can down the road Like never before.

For example Hargrove. If he leaves they get charged 12Mfor him in 23…Or…he can be signed to a three-year extension, with three void years added to the end. With the signing bonus being spread over the real plus the void years, they would actually free up 2023 cap pace and keep Hargrove. So for a GM coming off of a Super Bowl performance it really is a no-brainer. From his point of you, he could inflate the window more by keeping his best DT and having more money to spend elsewhere in 2023.

This must be what Jerry was pointing to when he claimed the Eagles had a short term approach.

Yes you will someday have to account it on the salary cap, but you can use this technique to extend your window even wider…ride that window to the end…then have one or two years where you have zero money… Maybe that’s tank time. LOL. Rinse and repeat. That might be the new paradigm for success in the NFL. X years of greatness, followed by Y years of being putrid.… Much better than X + Y years of mediocre.

Yeah, Cox is running on empty.
