The Cowboys are expected to place the first- and third-round tender on restricted free agent DE Chris Canty.
The 6'7/300-pounder has emerged as Dallas' top end, whereas Marcus Spears hasn't been a difference maker. If Canty was given anything less than the first-round tender, Bill Parcells' Dolphins would likely be all over him.

I bet he'd give up one of his seconds though. I think Canty has to carry at least a first round tender or he'll be relocating to South Florida.

You can just about guarantee that team will move to the 3-4 as soon as possible and 3-4 DE is one area that would prevent them from doing it.

Well, his 2nd round pick is #32, which is essentially a first rounder. And it doesn't make sense to suggest that a 1st and a 3rd is likely when they're saying he wouldn't get taken with just a 1st.
