What is our situation with Miles Austin?

I decided to actually think the other day and was thinking -- as mah head pounded from the transmission overload -- that we might find ourselves with a superstar. Not Ware-like superstar with Ware money, but a Superstar nonetheless.

Can we afford another superstar making big bucks?
Will Jerra have to unload RW to make room? I keep hearing about an upcapped year but it hurts to think that much.

Anyone? Anyone?

If there is no cap after this year, Miles will be a restricted Free Agent for two more years.

yay! we can shortchange him for two years before we pay him big money.:)

And he'll be worth ever cent when we shell out big money.

Miles Austin is a young game breaker (with plenty to still prove) and a pleasant, team-oriented individual.

I have zero desire to let him reach restricted free agency again.

Even if we used the highest tender possible, 1st and 3rd rounder, might not a team be willing to cough that up for a player who has no downside?

I'd rather not find out.

In restricted free agency the team still has the right to match the contract.

If there is no cap next year, I could see Dallas trimming the fat. People like Fozell and Hamlin will probably get the axe. Austin will get resigned and instead of getting a huge signing bonus, I could see the Boys management calling it a Roster Bonus so the cap is all taken in the uncapped year.
