So going into today, what is our exact total we have to spend?
Thanks!

nfl direct is saying we are at 6.8 million and that is before we signed flozell adams;

if the cowboys do trade fergueson, that clears up about 2.5
if the cowboys restructure tony romo to guaranteed, that saves 4.5
if the cowboys trade akin that saves about 1.5
the cowboys may have an extra million not counted in lb thomas deal
then the cowboys should restrurcture hamilin deals save about a million
add all of that up from what i understand;
about 10 .5 added to 6.5 = 17 millioin

now we have to sign barber, canty, so that cuts it back down to about 10, then you have to save about 2.5 for draft that leaves about 7.5

so, im guessing we would have about 3 million or so to spend on free agents, not much left to do that, maybe one big name, but thats all, but we keep our core players intact, youu have to keep about 3 million for emergency plans

This was confusing enough that I will just blindly believe it to save the strain on my brain! :D Thanks for the info!

Do you mean re-sign? As far as I know there's no way to change the cap number for your franchise player.

If I'm not mistaken, the team can negotiate a better deal which can reduce his cap hit.

But it has to be a new contract. There's no way to restructure a franchise deal that I know of.

Hamlin hasn't signed the tender. The tender was to restrict his rights. They can negotiate until July 15 for a long term deal, which can then reduce his rights.

yep, that what i mean guys by hamlins deal, which we franchised him at 4.5, so it makes sense that the cowboys will get a new deal done with him, give him some guarateed money up front, so he doesnt count so much against the cap,

i am figuring at least a 3 million deal or 3.5, for hamlin with a longterm contract, but that still saves about a million saved, whenver the deal is done,

I'm sure once we get some things done in the next few days things will shape up a bit but I do agree that with where Dallas is at, if they're going into FA for something, its really for one player probably and nothing more.

They're going to resign their own guys and maybe add one more player, if possible, to the mix and get ready for the draft.

I'll wait on Adam --he is the upmost authority --and I can understand him:laugh2:

Don't forget about TO, isn't his base salary like 7 mil this year, easy target right their to redo contract for 3 years and save about4 mil...
