But it doesn't work that way. If you're $30 million under the cap and making great deal after great deal, then I'd be ecstatic. I guess if you're close to the cap a team can be credited for "trying" but I'm more interested in my team being right than putting effort forth. In Dallas' lean years they were getting just below the cap, but they weren't making good personnel contract decisions. After awhile fans get sick of "trying" and want a team that gets things right.

How in the heck did the skins get so far under the cap, I understand the June 1 credit but man at end of last season they looked in cap hell as usual they find a way out of it...

They are currently in cap hell. They have a lot of holes on that roster and places that aren't holes are occupied by soon-to-be fossels. Because of their cap situation, they couldn't do crap about it except fill what few holes they could through the draft.

Washington will either be old or have a rookie at a lot of positions... and it isn't because they chose to be that way, although their fans want you to think it is.

It kills me... Skins fans are saying "Snyder has learned his lesson and is building through the draft." When the actual truth is, Lil' Danny coudn't spend much because of the cap and so he only appears to be frugal. Snyder is no more changing into a "draft first" type of owner than Zorn was actually his choice for head coach.

Yet the fans in Washington would have us think that they didn't want any of this year's free agents, that they wanted to extend old players for a lot more years and that Danny really wanted Zorn over Spags, Meeks, etc.

:laugh2:

It must have been killing Daniel to sit around and do nothing in free agency and he only took Zorn at head coach because there was nobody else but Gregg Williams who would take the job and Snyder was scared to be near him.

Of course being in cap hell didn't stop Napoleon from trying to be dumb by paying an arm and a leg for Chad Johnson, but luckily for Washington, Cincy was too stupid to make Snyder continue his yearly offseason reighn of idiocy.

Bottom line is if Vinny and Danny missed badly on their draft picks, Washington is royally screwed this year and going forward.

Arn't teams obligated to spend 85% of some number? If it were $115 million, are those with over $20 million in violation of this requirement?

They just have to be there by the end of the season.

Just keep drinkin that cowboy coolaid, my friend. I bet it tastes real good. All that deliciousness blocking your view of reality. Keep at it.

In actuality, everybody always says the skins are going to be in cap hell. Apparently they've been in cap hell for years. Could have fooled me. The way the skins set up their contracts enables them to convert a lot of salary into bonuses and clear up cap space when need be. All this cap hell talk...I'm still waiting for it to happen. After June 1 bonuses, we'll have plenty of cap room.

Conversely from what you believe, many people, NFL analysts and the like, have praised the skins for a solid draft. Their D line is aging, yes, but they addressed a major need: offense. They now have some big, possession wide recievers who can actually see over the kitchen counter. They've added weapons for jason campbell to throw at, and given cooley some help as well. I dont have any problems with their draft. They will, however, need to address their lines over the next 2 years or so. It's not as bad as you cowboy homers might make it out to be. Despite having a ton of injuries to the o-line last year, portis had a solid year, and campbell didnt get sacked as many times as he probably should have been. The d-line, despite aging, still managed to help the Commanders D in the top 15. They'll be alright.

I'm not sure how this (and seems like every thread around here) got turned into a skin bashing contest, but I imagine some of you senior members here are at least intelligent enough to keep threads on topic.

That being said, KC should spend some of that money. I'd be pissed if my team had that much space and still had brodie croyle at quarterback. Also, woe is raider nation. :)

I didn't say anything about Dallas in my previous post... it was about Washington and how screwed you guys are this year. I honestly feel sorry for some of the better Washington fans that I know. Nobody should have to deal with Snyder as an owner.

And I was going to tell you that you misspelled koolaid but then I realized you were following protocol by spelling it as coolaid anytime it follows the word Cowboy.

Good job! :)

That's what I was telling you in my first post... you guys are there.

You don't really think Washington didn't want help on the DL this year, do you? You don't really think they want to count on some of those old guys to play mediocre again, do you?

Somebody definately IS drinking some koolaid around here, that's for sure.

I never said your draft was bad. I said if Vinny and Danny missed on this draft, that you are screwed.

I hope for your sake, that it isn't a bad draft.

I agree that your offense needs some help.

"Throw at" would be about right.

Campbell ain't the most accurate mofo in the world. I didn't mention him in my first post because frankly, it's just too much to get into in this thread... but he might be your team's biggest problem.

Do you often get offended when an off-topic comment is made in the offseason? Besides, this thread is about salary cap space and that's what I posted about... how Washington has very little room to fill any needs. It is on topic.

It isn't like ES around here anyway. Our mods don't ban anyone for getting offtopic, or really even scold them. They treat fans like adults here.

So, your attempt to bring attention to someone being off-topic like everyone does at ES is just wasted typing.

It's funny when Skin fans come here thinking this place is run the same way ES is.:laugh1:

the only weapon you added who has a chance of making much of an impact is Fred Davis, a backup TE (idk if you guys are planning to run alot of 2TE offense)

rookie WRs are a big gamble to count on for much of anything for a couple of years

oooo, scary, they were alright until they couldn't put much pressure on potent offenses, like New England, and us, and got lit up

You mean, our mods don't ban or suspend posters for convoluted interpretations of the forum guidelines and then macho-up and talk smack to the banned person who can't respond? 'Cause I think that's real damn classy.

Yeah, something like that. The way the ES mods do it makes for some compelling arguments, huh?

Nothing like hearing one side of an argument.

No disagreement here. :D

We joke about it, but it is seriously delusional of that whole community to stand by and let them do things like that.
