So I am in the market to get a new vehicle. I can't decide if I want a truck again or another car.

I have narrowed the choices down to the following 2 vehicles

2011 Subaru Impreza WRX/STI 5door edition

Or

2011 GMC Sierra Denali .... (really tired of buying all of this gas...currently Hemi v8 in the 300c I drive)

Both are nice. The truck won't help on saving gas though :)

I've been paying 3.93/gallon. It hurts :(

Even the cheap stuff hurts :( I get 17/18 mpg in my Tacoma and drive 70 miles a day. Those 45mpg cars are looking nice.

Get an SRT8. :D

Which one fits your lifestyle the next few years?

Which one fits your budget the next few years?

If the answer is the same, your problem is solved.

It seems to me it boils down to whether you need something big enough to haul stuff with. Otherwise the Subaru is a great pick. You'll have the performance you miss from the Hemi and better mileage.

If the Sierra doesn't have 4WD then youll have the AWD at least in the Sub. Current manufacturer deals also would affect my decision as well.

I'd get the Subaru. If you really need to haul something that would tear up the interior, you can always rent a truck from Home Depot.

The bigger savings will be in gas, and the hatchback will let you haul a large quantity of stuff, assuming the back seats fold down.

Between the two, I'd go with the Suburu.

I've got a Volvo S60 ... it's a great highway car. As for my next car, I'm thinking a VW Golf Diesel would be nice (very fuel efficient, nice ride for a smaller car).

I'd say the Sierra, but I'm biased. I have an '07 Sierra.

The 2011 Sierra Denali 2500's with the Duramax are sweet.

But you said you're tired of buying gas, so you should probably go with the Subaru.

Does the turbo boxer 4 really get that great of gas mileage?????

hmm let's see.........

Engine

  • 2.5L H4, 16 valves, 305 hp @ 6000 rpm
  • 6 speed manual transmission
  • 17 mpg city / 23 mpg hwy
:omg: uhhh ok

The gas has been a real issue for me lately. The 300c I drive gets 10miles/gallon city and maybe MAYBE 14HWY, if I keep my foot out of it. The turbo on the Subaru will be a little better but not by much.

I really need to just stop driving like a bat out of heLL. :laugh2:

I love the Suby. One of my co-workers has the WRX version and just RALLIES it.

Thanks for everyones input. I appreciate it. :)

I bought a 2nd car for str8 cash a few months ago just to reduce the miles I was putting on my trailblazer. Needless to say with the rise in gas prices, my little Honda has been worth every penny I paid for it.

The difference is basically $20 per fill up right now. I get fantastic gas mileage in it.

Ditto.

An R/T is fine too.

Buy one of these. Put the top down, buy some nice shades and learn to relax...

I'm not sure you can get further opposite ends of the vehicle spectrum.

Makes no difference how I drive my Hemi Ram Quad, I'm going to get 14 MPG no matter what.
