This is not intended as legal advice, but I think this suggestion is terrible, though I can't tell if the first paragraph was in jest like the second.

Go with Febreeze and open windows for a while.

The first paragraph was real. The second was not.

Yeah that was a bit of an issue for me, man. Basically I'm having to pay for all of this (well, a $500 deductible and the charges for the rental) and then be reimbursed by the "hitter's" insurance soon

I told my insurance, their insurance, and the car repair place about the car getting wet... but since it occured "after the accident", it wouldn't be covered

By the way, it took me calling the "hitter's" insurance multiple times and speaking directly to the "hitter's" adjuster a few times before getting the ball spinning on this. Insurance companies are the devil. Lesson learned.

P.S. "hitter" is another word for a female dog.

You need to get a new insurance company.
