I don't think you can do that. We already have Moore, who we are trying to develop and you will likely draft somebody who can come in and be the guy you groom for Tony's replacement. I don't think you can bring in another young QB and put time towards him. I think that's a waste of a pick. I just don't think you can bring in that many guys and give them all the time and resources needed to develope. It's actually better if he were to get taken by somebody else who has the time to spend to develop him. JMO

Ok 2 QB's. still developing in a sense...one is 6-0, 200, the other is 6-5, 250 with a canon arm, and has improved on his touch passes.
One could be out for the year as Romo does at times with a good hit, the other, kind of like Big Ben, good luck with bringing him down a good part of the time.

He showed up at the combine at like 255 pounds which made some scouts question his commitment.

I wouldn't touch him until the 6th round at the earliest.

In the Ohio State pro day Friday, they said he slimmed down and looked in great shape.

Funny on all the varying opinions on Cardale Jones. Rather it's something you seen, or thought you seen or interpreted. Something you heard, read or otherwise.
Some people form opinions about players just because they do. I do it, we all do it.

I would not want them to take Jones in the first 3 rounds, nor would I want them to take Prescott either. If both are there in the 4th round, I was leaning toward Prescott. But with his recent DUI, is that more mature than Jones now, right before the draft.
so with the 4th round comp pick, yes I would consider Cardale Jones right now.

Remember, we need a QB to develop, not one that needs to start right away. And if needed to be a back up, they will have Kellen Moore or Matt Moore as a stop gap until the drafted QB is ready. And if Romo would go down again, after last year, does anyone believe it would make a difference.

Immature, lazy practice habits, doesn't put in the time. I don't like him at all. I'd rather take somebody else who is going to live in the film room because the guy we take will hopefully be sitting and learning. That does not translate over to what is being said about Jones.

This
Stay away from this guy

When will we learn that anyone with the last name Jones or Garrett knows nothing about football

So Jerry can hire Campo 2.0, cuz that is what you'll get, and you know how I feel about Red.

I'll take campo over Red
At least everyone will see what jerry is doing
There are still many fans who really believe that Garrett is a good coach

This response was not about keeping Moore and drafting Jones. This post was about drafting two young QBs this year.

Based on Urban's steadfast defense of Tebow and his assurance that Tim was a NFL starter, I basically ignore anything he has to say. He's purely a self-promoter and if his players are drafted in early rounds he just uses that as a recruiting pitch.

Our 3rd maybe? He has a cannon and looks pretty good today, I like him better than Prescott

I sure hope not. I don't want any of these lower tier QB's in the 2nd or 3rd. Too much better talent at other positions in those rounds.

Lets face it: Most football coaches are used car salesmen. Do I think Jones has the tools to be a scuccessful NFL QB? All but one.

I hate it that you are right. We'd just get the next Campo or Wade or Garrett or Chan. Jerry still can't stand the thought of a strong HC in control who may get too much credit like Jimmy. Parcells was the only outlier but we all know that was a desperation move to get us back to respectability and gain approval for the new stadium.

But now Jerry has his palace and doesn't need to worry about that. He'll continue riding with his boy Jason until the wheels totally come off and then find version 2.0. Sad he still puts his ego ahead of winning.

I wouldn't mind taking a chance on him. He allows us to fill a bigger and more immediate need in the first round.

In fact, I wouldn't mind seeing our draft go something like this (Not a Buckeyes fan at all)

1. Ezekiel Elliot
1a. Jalen Ramsey
1b. DeForest Bunkner/Joey Bosa

2. Braxton Miller
3. Cardale Jones

Cardale looked great in his first pre season game. Made some great throws. Looks like Big Ben 2.0 ... Wish the Cowboys would have picked him up.
