His subborness did not sit well with me. Nor did the fact that TO was not moved around.
Giving up on the run was increasingly frustrating, especially when the pass wasn't working.
But the bottom line is execution, and our players did not do a good job of doing so this season. Remember the jump balls that Romo threw up for TO? Yeah, TO didnt make those plays. How about the jump ball Warner threw up for Fitz? Exactly.
Doesn't surprise me. Dallas is not a championship place anymore.Aikmaniac;2568626 said:Todd Haley getting the last laugh.
I honestly don't think Garrett uses the players to their advantage. Owens and Williams are physical receivers, yet he has them running fly patterns down the sidelines all the time. What about the slant that Irvin use to run that was nearly unstoppable? What about quick hitters for 6-7 yards and moving the chains? Not every pass play has to go for over 20 yards. Plus his play calling was completely horrible. Instead of running the ball deep on our own 1 yard line, Romo takes a deep drop, which of course gets him sacked and fumbles the ball. That stupid delayed draw play was waaay overused. Seriously, for a moment, I thought we only had two running plays in the entire game plan....NextGenBoys;2568586 said:Not saying that those plays are not stupid, because they are.
But you'll have a hard time convincing me that Todd Haley is a better coordinator than Jason Garrett.
And for those who complain that Garrett doesnt run the ball enough, the Cards are number 2 in passing yards and attempts per game, and Warner shattered career highs in attempts and completions. By the way they were 4th to last in the league in rushing attempts.
Yes they ran the ball tonight, but thats also because they have had a comfy lead since halftime.
saphire1;2568630 said:man, im guessing next season no one wants those top seeds anymore, the way bye teams lost tonight. the cards just snuffed the life out of the panthers in this game. its hard to think an offense with steve smith and deangelo williams can only manage to score 7 pts in their home playoff game.

StylisticS;2568632 said:We don't have a Fitz on this team. But we do have a Witten. We do have a TO. We do have a Marion, a Felix, and a Choice. Use what you got consistently and don't give up on your game plan so often. That's why many of us became frustrated with him. It took me a while to get off of the Garrett bandwagon but with that abortion of a game he called for the Ravens, I was done. I agree with players needing to execute. But why didn't we run more screen with TO or more slants? TO has something Fitz doesn't have. Great speed.

That play should not have been called at that position of the field. You are just begging for disaster which is exactly what we got.NextGenBoys;2568655 said:Oh you mean the play where half of our Oline did not get out of their stance, allowing for 3 free rushers on Romo. Yeah, thats the coordinators fault.
If we block the way that they should and pick up a first down, Garrett is a genius for not taking his foot off the pedal.
the defense would've have given up those plays if they weren't so gassed from being on the field all day long because the offense kept getting 3 and outs.NextGenBoys;2568651 said:The abortion of a gameplan against the Ravens? The one that had two receivers streaking wide open down field that Romo missed? There's 14 points.
You dont get many opportunities against a defense of that caliber. You have to make the most of them. We didnt.
Not to mention Garrett didnt give up back to back 77 and 82 yd TD runs.
Could Garrett have called a better game? Sure. But you only get a few chances to beat the Ravens defense. We had ours and we did not take advantage.
