Being ranked 5th means they were 5th in giving up least amount of sacks. In another words, there were only 4 teams that gave up less sacks than AZ.
My bad... that crown royal clearly wasn't helping my critical thinking last night smh

As much as they prioritize the run game, I'm expecting them to draft two RBs and sign a vet ( keep an eye on James Conner ). Conner is an 8 year vet. He has one year left on a 2-year deal that only pays $2-3M. The Cards already have his replacement on the roster. He could very well be released. Vet presence and locker room player for the young guys.

****Not sure Jeanty gets out of 10 ( Jets, Saints and Bears ). Even so, I'm not sure we will draft him at 12 or at all. If you follow recall Stephen Jones's view/comments/history regarding RBs he would not draft Jeanty.

** Through Stephen's lens, a 1st rounder is def getting a 2nd contract if it's a good pick. He has said a player drafted in the top 15 should be on your team 7-8 years. Based on this thinking........
*Jeanty as an RB is good for 5-7 years w/o injuries (50/50 odds of not being worth a 2nd deal )
* He has almost 800 college career touches
* Emmitt, Felix Jones and Zeke are only first-round RBs.....otherwise, they are drafted 3rd, 4th or 5th rounders
* I expect them to look for the next DeMarco Murray.....big 3-down RB ( 2nd or 3rd round )
Not sure the Joneses' view on running backs is the same as it was last year when they devalued the position and didn't go after Henry. If Jeanty is a top 10 value, which he appears to be, and makes it to our pick, I think the value could be too good to pass up.

However, nothing this team does surprises me. Since there is supposed to be good depth at RB in this draft, they could decide to go with a higher-value position. I'm just not sure the value is there at 12 at a position we really need. I mean, it looks like edge rusher, OL or WR would have to be the pick for value, possibly CB. And while I'm not opposed to improving those spots, I feel more strongly about the need to improve RB and DT early. Of course, that may change based on what we do in free agency. If we don't improve No. 2 receiver, it's right up there IMO with RB and DT.

Dallas doesn't have the horses that Arizona had. OL did come on stronger as the season went but as of now they have no RB and the QB isn't a threat to run.. gotta hope they do enough in free agency and draft to fix this.
this has already been disproved, they didn't have a bunch of big names along the OL , most were not as good as ours, individually, and conners numbers were not better than ricos, almost equal , the point is with what we got not even taking the draft into account, a better scheme and coaching staff could get more out of this teams run game. so outside of a mobile qb the DC have enough for this new staff to succeed and the draft and FA will boost that as well.

most have said that was MM short comings wanted to lean on team and talent beats talent, wasn't creative or aggressive until he was desperate.. we hope that changes game 1 -17 creating offense etc..

IE got more out of LESS..

Remember the 220-plus rushing yards Arizona had against Dallas a couple years ago?

We can certainly use that against Dan Quinn's defensive scheme twice a season now.

You can't turn any quarterback into Mahomes. He's one of one. Other quarterbacks outside of Mahomes in most cases benefit from solid running games. It's not just a Cowboys thing.

The Eagles are in the Superbowl because of the BEST running game. Hurts is nowhere close to Mahomes either.
The Eagles are in the Super Bowl just as much due to their defense giving up 7.3 ppg less this year compared to last year.

Team better find a way to get a running back that scares defenses. Probably two of them in today's NFL.

For a slightly positive spin, all of Dak's metrics look good when the run game looks good. If you want to win with Dak, don't try to turn him into Mahomes. He needs to be a bus driver.
Mahomes. I wouldn’t even try to turn him into a Stafford.

Come on let's stop the nonsense you didn't realize that he's ever been as good as Stafford you talking about the Matthew Stafford that was with the Detroit Lions and never did a single thing but when he gets into a team that has an all in philosophy better coaching stuff better players typically that's how you're judging this literally you put him on that team and he does the same thing..

We are talking about the same Matthew Stafford that led the league in interceptions and through 2 interceptions in the Super bowl which his defense bailed him out you talk about that guy yeah I'm telling you that's romo 2.0 and since everybody thinks that Prescott and Romo are having the same type of careers there you go no debate needed you guys can't ever get your narrative straight it's either Jerry's cheap delusional he might even be slightly starting to show signs of dementia never does anything big in free agency no big trades no aggressiveness hires the wrong coaches oh but it's the quarterback's fault he's being compared to somebody that's on the team that does quite opposite of that.....

Right perspective we keep blaming the quarterbacks when there's bigger problems here these quarterbacks are setting records all time records in the passing game Dallas Cowboys records Prescott recently second team all pro second MVP voting which by the way he should have been the MVP he had the numbers he had the wins doesn't matter about the playoffs but now you don't even wanna try to turn him into Matthew Stafford he is already Matthew Stafford..lmao

Impressive however the only thing that worries me with these type of stats from coordinators is coming from a duel threat QB/RB duo.

He's not going to have that in Dallas.
