Not sure why anyone would think it is a slap in the face, it is a pre season game to get 2nd and 3rd sting players actually game time instead of a controlled environment which is what practice is. At practice you pull up on a QB or a RB pre season you play football. HOF game is just the start of the football season and for me I'm excited to get this season under way.

Rod Smith is getting a ton of hype right now so I'm looking forward to watch him and the rookie DBs. I would not be surprised if Rod balls out the next couple of games Morris gets cut.

My point was that I think the game to honor the HOF should be an important game. I understand it's important for fringe roster players but I just think it would be more special if the game had implications on the team's season success.

Essentially, move the ceremony to Week 1 of the RS, or heck, how about the Super Bowl?

The Super Bowl is so big by itself the HOF inductees would get overlooked by comparison. I think having the induction now is fine. I don't know why there has to be a HOF game at all.

After this long Cowboys drought I'm suffering from severe withdrawal and will be happy to watch anyone they push out there who is wearing a star. It's probably going to be kind of like watching the 4th preseason game first.

I'm sure I'm in the minority on this, but I'd like to see the starters get at least a possession. This is a ridiculously young team. I'm sure they can use all the warmup they can get.

How many times must this be hammered into the psyche of fandom!,,, all this past voodoo/ bad luck cycles are inconsequential since #4 took the reins,with #21as the leade Horse,,, it just ain't the same,,,ANYMORE!

NFL does not want to overshadow the HOF inductees. The game itself is represent the kickoff of the new NFL season, yet being pre season the hype is more focused on the inductee not the game.
