Would you be ok with him being our first round pick?

Meh in the first...Ok in the second...if that makes sense.

I like some of what I see with Davis and was high on him recently until I read this from Walterfootball:

However, those on-field performances may not be enough to make Davis a first-rounder as sources said that Davis was awful in team interviews at the Senior Bowl. He came across as lazy and arrogant. Davis said he should only play 20-30 snaps a game and was unabashed about regularly taking himself out of games as a senior. He also gave excuses for poor practice effort because he said he didn't want to risk injury while going against enthusiastic scout-team linemen. Davis had a great Senior Bowl on the field, and an equally awful one in the team interviews.

He may have switched gears at the combine but if the above is accurate, do you want a player like this on the team?

He has size and ability. The stories of him bombing his interviews scare me a bit. I see him as a boom or bust type that I wouldn't go near with my first but will gladly bring on board if he's there when we pick in the second.

Yea, this is precisely what I read and therefore won't touch him in the first. Great value in 2 though.

One of our twitter guys should ask Dane Brugler if Davis also had poor interviews at the scouting combine, I have not seen any whispers on that front.

He seems to hear the chatter through his contacts.

It's hard for me to understand the concept of he's not good enough to take with #27 but he is a steal of a pick in the 2nd......or 5 pick later.

Dallas desperately needs push in the middle. Take him @27 if he's good enough to start Day 1.

Why did Dallas make the huge jump over the last three seasons, trench work on the OLine, want to take it to the next level do the same on the DL.

Would you be ok with him being our first round pick?

No, I don't think I would. He definitely has talent, but I just see it in flashes. He tends to shut down as soon as the play is away from him and does not appear to go hard on all snaps.

It would be a horrible pick in my opinion. I don't want a lazy player on our d line. I would honestly take him off of the board all together.

yes, likely has a 2nd round grade, and at 27 highly unlikely we have any 1st round graded players still on he board

The concept is you want to hit on your first rounder. The 2nd round is the round you start taking chances on a player who may have some red flags but are otherwise physically as gifted as the ones that go in round 1. And we're not talking 5 picks later but a full round later when we pick again in the 2nd.

Don't think he's the RKG. Not sure he really cares. Fine with a 2nd Rd investment

No, no and no.

We don't need guys with this kind of attitude, nor guys that steal pants, nor guys that argue with coaches and get suspended for emotional outbursts.

To be fair 90% of Cowboyszone wouldn't have taken Frederick in the first round and now it's great that we did because we get him for 3 more years on a rookie deal.
