On the Yannick opinion, yes he’s more expensive but still don’t understand why nobody has committed long term to him.

A little surprising that those are all 3-4 OLB types. Obviously they can play DE, but definitely not traditional 4-3 body types.

I know they are replacing Williams, but it’s not like he was Zimmer’s guy. I would have thought Zimmer would want a bigger, more traditional DE. Pickings are also very slim at this point too, but does make you wonder if he wants to play more of a 3-4 hybrid to utilize Micah
Lawson is definitely not that. He'll rush from a 2-point but he's a true 4-3 DE.

Similar player to DLaw, who does this constantly:

Yes I agree, but that’s why you work him out to see if he’s passed those injuries and how he’s moving, he’s familiar with Zimmer so I think that’s where he’s got the upper hand. If he’s healthy I think he signs and is brought in slowly.
Machota screwed that up about Zimmer. No connection there, but Paul Guenther was with the bengals at the time Lawson was there.

Yeah I was just reading under Guenther, I was even wondering how long. I met was at Minnesota lol. Still should be some what familiar with the system.

Good to see confirmation, just as suspected, that Archer follows me here.

Yeah, baby -- Carl Lawson is in town with six-shooters hanging at his hips!
He's in Thousand Oaks today, holding target practice w/guns blazing! :flagwave:

Criticism of Ngakoue that I've seen is that he's too much a deficit if they run instead of pass.

My guess... sometimes a player plays for a coach, and the coach covets the opportunity to coach him again some day... and sometimes, the opposite happens.

The fact that Minny traded for him at the start of a season, and sent him away by October suggests maybe the opposite happened when Ngakoue and Zimmer were in MIN together.

Carl Lawson is a NFL veteran that has amazing strength for his 6-2-260 frame. Speed is above average on a very solid and compact frame. But that frame has not been durable missing time with both knee 2018 and Achilles 2021 injuries. Would have been a higher draft pick but was coming off hip injury 2015 before his 2016 final season at Auburn.
