Carlos Hyde RB Ohio st

Yeah I believe he'll make a good pro.

He has shown some ability to catch the ball, but nothing that jumps out at you.

Also, I am not ready to give up on Randle or Dunbar, but Hyde seems to have the body for 300 carries a year.

You have any later rounds rbs you like?

I actually didn't watch enough this year to know. I caught O State a ton though cause a close friend of mine is a fan. I agree about Hyde though, he doesn't jump off the screen, but I just feel like he'll be durable and dependable.

I've been a fan of us drafting Hyde since I saw the NW game. Guy is a beast. Plus I still have a lot of animosity towards the NYG for all those years Jacobs ran over the top of us, would love a decade of payback, esp while Tuck is still there. Oh, and Hyde would've really change our short yardage and game management calculus IMO, or could

You are giving Jacobs a little too much credit. In 14 games he played against Dallas he rushed for 692 yards and 7 TDs.

I wouldn't spend more than a 4th for Hyde. If Dallas needs only a short yardage back then they could pickup Bergeron from Texas even later in the draft. He scored a TD once every 10.8 rushes. Hyde scored a TD once every 14.1 rushes. I think there are better running back options than either guy.

Lol come on man.....going to use a TD per rush stat when 1 guy had just about 3x more carries than the other? I have Hyde as my 5th favorite RB in this class and wouldn't mind at all if he was BPA in the 3rd round and we took him. Then again our current head coach hates even the idea of running the ball so maybe it wouldn't be the best pick.

Come on man, I didn't say I would take Bergeron before I took Hyde. Did you miss that part of my post?

I think a 3rd is too high for Hyde. There will be BPA in the third.

who are your top 5 rbs?

Also Hyde had just under 2 times the carries as Bergeron did during their college careers. Not 3x.

agreed
if we knew dunbar would be healthy, would not take RB at all this draft except in rd 7 or UDFA
i think we have enough between murray, dunbar, and randle

weird that u got that from this thread.

Is it? People are talking about taking a RB in the third round. You don't take a running back in the third round if you believe you have a quality tandem on the team already. Particularly not with the holes we have -- unless you go BPA for the entire draft.

Hyde wouldn't have a role here. He's not going to get any third down plays b/c DeMarco and Dunbar are both good pass catchers. You can't use a pick in the first three rounds on a guy who is maybe going to get 5 carries a game. Maybe.
