the real reason is because BP felt that Oliver Hoyte is a better special teamer, and with Carpenter being a backup ILB, like Hoyte, he decided to leave him at home

Because we're stacked at linebacker and someone had to sit. First bashing Julius for a good game and now this silly question. Pay attention lately?

Coaches decision. I doubt Carp will be inactive this week. Hoyte may find himself on the outside looking in.

Isn't there a bash the Texans for picking Mario thread somewhere on here that says he wasn't even worth a first round pick. Man I guess a first round pick that can't even play special teams must really be a sign of drafting greatness.

BP said today, it's very likely we'll see a different group of inactives this week.

Probably doesn't mean a complete new group though.

No Gomer, there isn't such a thread but plenty of them questioning why you passed on Reggie Bush.

don't know why but we could have used his pass rushing skills late in the game when our starters were winded.

I don't know if he was the best pick or not, but I'll bet Carpenter wasn't the only 1st round pick that was inactive.

carpenter will be a serviceable player eventually, but he clearly isn't the impact player dallas hoped for. a guy picked that high should be starting. we had some needs....and we overlooked them. its what parcells does...he goes for players he has connections to.

I'll bet there isn't a player drafted in the top 20 who was inactive. A first rounder doesn't have to walk in and start, but if he isn't even active because he's not good enough to be better at ST's than free agents, sorry, but that sucks.

yeah, I agree it sucks for now. I think he is going to end up playing in the middle along side James. Which means the cowboys will still be looking to draft another outside backer.

I still think he will be a really good starter in the long run.

What can I say? It's just the apologist in me.:D

we're LOADED with quality LB.

we dont' need Carp this month or next probably. if we did then our D will be a sad.

we had enough DUMB mistakes and we dont' need more on D.

Let's face it. LB was one position we did not need to draft for; especially a first round addition. Offensive guard or tackle would have been nice, along with a nose tackle (and I would now add a QB). I would have also said receiver and free safety, but maybe the younger guys are stepping up and we got lucky with Watkins. BUT, Parcell's seems to be LB and DE crazy - and it's at the expense of our offense.
