Looking at the stats for the 49 ers this past week, Lawson had 6 tackles. Not bad for first game. How long before the "we should have taken Lawson over Carp" stuff starts?

(p.s.-I am among those who think we should have taken Lawson).

Because we're stacked at linebacker and someone had to sit. First bashing Julius for a good game and now this silly question. Pay attention lately?

Makes alot of sense using a #1 pick on a position that you're stacked at. Not only was it not a major need area, but he wasn't the BPA. I just hope he pans out.

I'll bet there isn't a player drafted in the top 20 who was inactive. A first rounder doesn't have to walk in and start, but if he isn't even active because he's not good enough to be better at ST's than free agents, sorry, but that sucks.

anyone have a list of inactives..??

I wouldn't say we we're stacked at that position going into the draft at all. Many of us felt, as I'm sure the Cowboys did, that OLB was indeed a position of need.

This was before the so-far, so-good Ellis experiment. The only other player at the position is Al Singleton who is aging and average. Both of those players could very well be gone next year.
