And a damn good job it was spying on Vick, he's a better athlete than I thought.

The game is slowing down for him.

Great observation and very well worded.

I have noticed the same thing over the past 3 games or so. It started with Carp making a few tackles on special teams. Then he made a few nice stops in the run game. Finally, I started to notice that he was getting pressure on the QB ... on a few occassions, he was just a step late (weren't we hanging that rep around the neck of one of our other 1st round picks up until recently?).

I believe, along with the game slowing down for him (or perhaps as a result of), Carpenter's confidence has been growing steadily. The 1 1/2 sacks Saturday night had to help.

While this defense may have its flaws, the younguns are starting to step up, and I think we're seeing the gellin' process unfold in this second year of the 3-4 transition.

One last thought (I have many) - if this kid does continue to blossom into a factor, and we're looking for a nickname, I say we take the angle of his last name, and start calling him "BuzzSaw".

It'll be nice to see Carpenter come into his own so we know OLB still isn't a concern for the offseason.

Focus on FS, backup NT, a backup MLB maybe?

He said NOTICEABLE difference from BEGINNING of month to the END of month. How hard is that to understand?

Am I missing something? I thought Carp looked OK, but I don't exactly see anything thats getting me too excited right now. So he got 1 1/2 sacks on the most sacked QB in the league. I am not trying to be a downer, but our "young guns" are not coming into their own. Anyone even watching this defense? We can't even get near the QB. Not even close to what our defense should be with what we have spent on it in the last few years.

You know how it is around here, if the guy isn't all-world instantly, he's a bust. We have so many draft gurus here, I can't fathom why the Cowboys simply fire Jeff Ireland and his staff and rely on the fans for the draft.

He also said he was coming on for the month. What I'm saying is that it wasn't a gradual increase, but rather he improved in just this one game. Grizz acted like it's been a steady increase. He played average to below-average in just about every game leading up to the Atlanta game. The statement was funny juxtaposed against his own article of just two weeks ago.

Seriously, is this too hard for you to understand?

Oops, I just posted on Carpenter in another thread, but I thought I'd add that IMO the most impressive play he made in the entire game was the open field kickoff return tackle on Rossum. They did a fake reverse that froze some of our cover guys, and Rossum had some space with only Carp in front of him. To get a guy that quick down in the open field with basically no help is a pretty good play for a 257 pounder.

Great to see our first rounders playing so well on special teams.:insane:
