i maybe in the minority with this but i think carp can have a breakout yr if given the opportunity

since hes been here hes had to deal with little play time and position change after position change

i still remember that playoff game in seattle where he was a real force on defense. the guy was all over the place making plays. if given a fair shake i think hell do well

After watching that, I'm absolutely appaled at the lack of physicality this guy has. There's not a single clean hit, much less a big hit. Every tackle he makes, he's wrestling the guy like he's waiting for backup. Geez.

Bobbys bust simple as that, we screwed up in the draft and now were paying the price as early as we took him we probably missed out on a great player, I can't believe he's still on the team, get rid of the bum

Can you imagine the man hours they put in watching some 20 games, looking for a Barbie Carpenter highlight? And when is just a normal tackle a highlight? Oh he fell on a fumble that bounced his way...highlight!

See those earth shattering stats? 13 games, 13 tackles, 1 fumble recovery. Barbie Carpenter is a chooch. Zach Thomas has more years in this league than Barbie has tackles. Ship him already.

Sam Paulescu has more highlights than Bobby Carpenter.

And I've been uber bored as a result of having a bum ankle so I watched that Seattle playof game. Carp didn't do anything special, he just didn't mess up - which people considered to be a solid game, evolving into a great game where he showed promise.

Two great defensive coaches, that know LBs - both agree that he just doesn't have 'it'.

His appearences on the radio, first take, etc just solidified my hatred for Barb.

I'm going to be kind of disappointed when he's never given a chance.

He moved from position, to position. Never really played much.

I hope we keep him and try to find atleast a spot for him. Other than ... special teams, that is.
Moving him all the time, changing Henson's throwing motions, Stanback changing positions...all examples of taking players out of their comfort zones. All failed exercises.

Yet people still think moving Hamlin to SS and Henry to FS is a marvelous idea.

Each is a unique situation Hos, just because a couple of the above didnt work doesnt mean they never will.

Once upon a time we moved a college LB to S and that worked out pretty well. Crayton was a QB and is now a good player as a WR. Ratliff was never supposed to be a NT.

That reminds me, some people think we should move a SS to ILB.

It is beyond ridiculous to think this stuff works like clockwork. Occasionally you find a gem.

Finally someone who understands. If he is traded, he will go and get his chance and be successful for another team.

I would like to see him get that chance here next year, if they stop goofing around with him.

Is there actual video? Because all I'm getting is a still picture and audio.

That is the highlight. :)

Seriously, how pitiful was that? Thirteen games, thirteen tackles.

That girls basketball team that lost 100-0 had more highlights than this.

I move CBs to FS and FSs to SS in Madden all the time.

Works for me.

He was asked to play outside linebacker and inside linebacker... not exactly moving him from fullback to quarterback.

In my high school and college career I played fullback, tight end, wide receiver, inside linebacker, middle linebacker in a 4-3, outside linebacker in a 3-4, safety in a 3-3-5, and both safety spots in a 3-4. I never felt victimized because of it.

Carpenter has just never been good enough to force his way onto the field. When he is 2nd on the depth chart and we see an injury he gets passed up by someone else.

First round picks do not lack for chances.

He has been an out and out bust.
He gets more love in the media than he should because he talks to them off the record.

I thought it would be a highlight film of his interviews on ESPN's 1st and 10 and his budding radio commentator career.
