They're both gone next season. Carter has been mailing it for at least 2 years.

What's crazy is I thought before the thigh injury carter was playing his best ball of his career. When he came back it's like he forgot everything except how to block kicks

Watch Carter on Cutler's run into the endzone and tell me you still want him here. I dare you.

I didn't see him on that play but I already know he tends to give up. There's no room for that.

And Carter is the biggest disappointment I think I've ever seen for this team. I've never seen someone that gifted who flashes absolute, real-game greatness, suck so bad.

That is what journeymen do. Tantalize and wow you four games a yea,r then disapear for twelve.

I'd be careful to knock Carte'rs intellect or effort. The guy may not be a linebacker in the 4-3. He looked impressive when he was in the 3-4.

Maybe, but there was that one play last year where he failed to touch a receiver down leading to a TD. He has a reputation for giving up on plays now. In any case, he seems to lack confidence. I saw him quite upset with himself after giving up a completion tonight. I think he cares at least.

I'm not sure anything in the secondary is salvageable outside of Scandrick

I bet you the organization is pretty high on Scandrick, Church, Wilcox, and Patmon. They probably like Moore as a journeyman, too. Carr, I think, it probably gone in favor of a better player for less money, but I wouldn't rule him out entirely, either, at the right price. Though we probably release him and roll with Mo, Patmon, and a relatively-high round rookie.

I've mentioned Patmon twice here, I know. But I was looking forward to him getting a bit more playing time here during November. He looks like a playmaker with a shot at developing into a player for us in the nickel next season with a little more strength and more experience. Having him out for a month is painful.

Doesn't Carr have one more year left before Dallas can realistically release him?

I don't know why they don't have Carter rush the passer more as a SLB. The way he rushes the punter, I think he can get to the QB better than most defender on our team.

I guess it doesn't fit the scheme.

I don't think so. I think this coming offseason was an obvious departure season if we didn't want to lock him in.

I know Cater is no Von Miller but they should try to use him like they do with Miller in Denver. Carter has the burst to get to the QB. I like to see him stacked next to a DE and have the DE take his guy wide and have Carter rush through the hole vacated by the guy blocking the DE.

Right. I think its unfair to say he doesn't care. He's just one of those guys...he was touted as this freak athlete....and he is. But all athletes aren't as good as their measurements. He may need a change of scenery.

He's a weird case. I don't know what it is but I don't believe its not a lack of caring. Especially with some of they injuries he's come back from.

Yeah, I notice that, too.

I think he's an athletic freak, but he's a dude that doesn't handle confusion very well, and he struggled last season with the scheme change. When he blew that wheel route coverage against SD, for example, you could see him give up on the play, but it looked more like frustration than a lack of heart. Not that it really matters all that much why a guy quits on a play if he's going to quit.

Either way, I think the team's not high on him. We'll sign Durant and let Carter walk in the offseason. But it'd be nice to see him making more plays between now and the end of the season.
