Googling the net to see if I can find a video of the 1992 Monday Night opener and found a couple of interesting things. One is Hank Williams Jr is returning to ESPN Monday Night Football.

they are both country songs. like many genres, songs sound similar
"Game On" are two words which go together all the time.
feel bad that the non star was close but she needed a lot of help to make the song good enough

Both are horrible but I think she has a case. The SNF intro sounds like a fast version of Merill's intro and it sounds like it uses the same notes.

If they can prove that they did indeed pass that same song to Carrie's producer, they have a shot.
