Carters Mock 1

Don't know much about Penning, but unless he can plug in at LG day one until its time to take over at OT like Collins did, then I am doubting we see a pure OT being taken in the 1st round. Tyron is still one of the best LT in the game. I know he misses at least a handful of games a year, but that's why the team seems to be trying to find a decent swing tackle for those guaranteed missed games by keeping Steele and drafting Ball.

your RB and TE picks are very intriguing.

I’ve looked at RBs a little. I like the Iowa State RB and the UCLA RB.

Ball will either never see the Field or be a Swing Tackle Reserve at max.

He was a 4th Round Pick from a small college for a reason and had to transfer multiple times because of off the field issues. He was ejected in the most important game of his college career for two personal fouls.

Now hes already injured to start his pro career. Its naive to believe this guy can be a starting LT for the Cowboys.

I would love it because that saves a ton of investment but its pretty much 0% chance.

Yeah the reason was domestic abuse. He might’ve been a much higher pick had he stayed at FSU.

$12m cap hit to cut Tyron and we drafted Ball in the 4th round for a reason.
The Cowboys don't manage the cap based on 'cap hit to cut'.

They manage the cap based on how much keeping a player adds to the overall multi-year cap total.

Keeping Tyron in 2022 adds 13.5M to the cap. Cutting him adds zero to the cap.

The cap hit to cut him is from money that has already been paid to him. It's not new money added to the overall multi-year cap total.

If you believe that watch when we walk away from DLaw and Zeke contracts. Spoiler alert: it will be when there is minimal cap hits.

I'll take that bet.

He has not been in trouble off the field since May 2018.

The 2 personal fouls in the Conference USA Championship game were on the snap play.
- One for what he did during the play.
- One for bumping into the ref in the Melee after the play.
- The refs had just called a personal foul on an OLineman from the other team a couple of series earlier.

Because he was dismissed from Florida State in May, he transferred to a community college that fall.

He then transferred to Marshall University because it was a university not a community college.

He was very good in 2017 as a redshirt freshman.

Better player as a redshirt freshman in 2017 than Steele was as a senior in 2020...

Zeke's 2022 base salary is guaranteed. There would be zero benefit to cutting him this year.

DLaw has been productive this season in the games that he has played.

They took an 8M cap hit when they cut Dez.

They took a 10M cap hit when they cut Aikman.

They took a 19.6M cap hit on Romo.

Hilaroious. Where does this first round OT play?
Penning is massive and powerful. He can play OG until needed at OT.

He is basically Flozell Adams without the false starts. Adams played OG his first year.

I never said they would cut Zeke after this year. Same with Dlaw. I said watch then they do. The 3 you mentioned were done in the NFL. They had no choice.

Penning can definitely play Guard and probably RT. And if you think he can eventually move to LT in a year or so then he’s definitely an option.
