Something didn't seem right, with his time in Dallas. I thought I read, he was looking for coaching when he arrived, and no one would help him.
All you guys complaining that we didn't have a guy that could help Cassel what makes any of you think we could develop a rookie like a Wentz or Goff?
I think Garrett has to produce or his days or numbered. Don't think he will take a QB at 4 when he wasn't contribute. Garrett will look for guys that will help keep his job.
If Garrett fails and is fired I believe the coach we bring in will then have his choice at QB instead of being forced with a Wentz or Goff that Garrett staff couldn't develop
Ya but some folks on here believe Garrett will never be fired even if he has another 4-12 season
I guess the analysis in Tennessee is that his problems in Dallas were scheme/coach related.
I agree.
It would be so funny, if Mariota got hurt and Cassell led to them an 8-8 or better record.
That's disappointing.
Instead of wishing him well with a new start, we are cracking jokes about the young man.
Not cricket, chaps. Not his fault he was surrounded by journeymen, overhyped players and mediocre coaches.
I read the HC knows cassel from NE, and wants him to be the #2.
We will see if he does better there than in Dallas.
If the Cowboys do not make the playoffs this year, that will mean that Garrett has exactly 1 playoff appearance in 6 complete seasons on the job. There is currently no head coach in the NFL that has missed the playoffs 5 of the last 6 seasons and is still employed.
I.
The Garrett groupies seem to think that records and actual team performance don't really mean anything. And I am not ragging on Garrett here, don't get me wrong, I am just saying that at some point a head coach in the NFL has to produce tangible results.

If an NFL team misses the playoffs 5 out of 6 years in todays NFL with free agency, I think it is more than appropriate to question the direction and philosophy of the current staff and why they seem to be unable to deliver any tangible success and to discuss if changes are needed.
