d. Assuming they sign Parsons,
To be honest, I am having 2nd thoughts about resigning him but it has nothing to do with his behavior, a sore issue for many fans. Just think if we end up drafting in the top 5-10, getting another 1st and 2nd rounders for him could fix this team quickly.

Jones has not reconstructed a successful plan of combining the right coaching and players since the last vestiges of Jimmy Johnson's influence evaporated in January 1996.

BUT

Jones is intelligent and skillful enough in sabotaging his own lack of expertise for putting together a true, Super Bowl contender.

No one could make this stuff up. Wait. Yes they can.

Btw, Dak looks like he lost his stuff. His mojo. Whatever he once had is just gone. I think the guy is done. Forget the injury, even with him we looked like toast. He wasn't seeing the field. Guys wide open underneath and he just never looked. Sometimes in this league guys simply hit a wall and never regain form.

I thought for most of the offseason this was a take your medicine and come back building up the roster in 2025 type of situation, but the issue is they've dug themselves even more of a hole. I would have fully supported that move had they actually done it responsibly.

The salary cap did not get reset, its actually in a bad spot once again, despite the inaction on free agency. You're looking at losing up to 8 starters again to free agency, granted not all of them will we be sad to see go it's still 8 positions you need to address over the offseason. Over the next two years you need to lock up Parsons, Tyler Smith, Overshown, Bland so your FA money is likely going to those guys unless Jerry actually willing to trade a guy with value for once. This realistically is what needs to be done this offseason. We need to move someone that will get us a couple of day 1 or 2 picks and actually free up future money.

Its just too many holes for this team to fill realistically fill once again to be competitive in 2025 unless they look at some higher risk moves.

Jerry Jones is a genius. A mad genius. All inside his head.
He's maniacal for sure. Pickled, and vengeful at heart. I do think losing is killing him inside, hurts his pride and ego deep. Which is why he's doubling down on the foolishness after a loss. But he knows the truth. He's simply letting things play out so he can make staff changes next year. That's always been the case since the GB game last year. A part of Jerry died that day along with his pride. It's an indictment of his poor decisions. He will never cop to it. So he doubles down. Reality is, he kinda expected this. It's hurting him more than we know. Only because he's the man in the mirror. He's a prideful, bitter, vengeful man. Always has been. Look for MM to mutually part company before the year is out. After we lose next week, it will become a reality.

Correct, but that's not how he see's it. He's living in his rinse and repeat world, living on names/stars over ability and the hope he can luck on a (compliant) HC that'll get the best out of the plethora of JAG's.

That's how smart GMs would approach that golden goose. Teams can easily scheme Parsons out of a game because the rest of the D is awful. Avoid his projected salary, get a couple of high draft picks for him, and now you have hit the reset button with good odds of coming out in a better position to compete. They could also use the cap savings from not having Parsons to get some FA talent on board.

Yep, he's vengeful in that: why spend on an offence where he's just shelled out $90m+ on the passing game and an O-Line of 2 first round picks in three years.....he ain't spending on a RB.
He had the CAP available, just isn't giving it to deadman walking Mike, especially when pretty much the same starters produced 12-5 last year.

Yep, dead right, but can you see Jerry trade a star, he doesn't have the vision, just blinded by star names (= financial making ability).

Probably not wrong
I don't like to give Jerry any credit for having any forethought but keeping the lameduck coach and making him eat this year so the next guy gets a better cap, a higher pick and a lower bar to get over, coming off a 6 win season does make sense... still say its a fluke, not a plan.

That’s assuming these idiots draft correctly. I don’t have a lot of confidence they would.

Agree 100% but we have to look past 2025........it couple take of years. I mean why not extend MM ( three 12-5 seasons ) for continuation if you don't have other plans?
