No, he isn't.

As a matter of fact, teams are wondering why he allowed so many catches in front of him this season....he has dominant workout numbers, but he's just an above average CB.

Don't forget that Arkansas led the SEC (and they were among the nation's elite) in rushing the ball. They held the ball, so teams did not have an opportunity to get into their offenses. They also had a pretty good pass rush.

Don't mistake me....I love Arkansas. They're one of my favorite NCAA teams. But Houston is not a shut-down CB.

Yet....

The tools and potential are there....but the bust factor is also there.
well u must not looked at the games like I did, not saying he's a shutdown but I would take him at 22, he played good the games I saw him play, and I say about a good 6 games, I liked him b4 his workout, shoot I didn't think he was a 4.3 but that's a added bonus.

We cannot ignore it any longer.

I remember feeling pretty good about our OL at times last year.

But if we lose Colombo, we will be in dire straights and need practically an entire right side.

That's not something you can fill in a draft and hope to contend.

We have an achille's heel position every single year it seems. So far we've needed a WR to play opposite Irvin (we did this for years), a CB to play opposite Deion, a DE to play opposite Ellis, a DT to play opposite Glover, a CB to play opposite Newman, a FS to play opposite Roy, and we've needed a RT for three years now.

Every year a position holds us hostage.....and Jerry always seems to make the wrong decision on which positions to fortify, which positions to fill in FA, and which positions to ignore.

I wasn't a huge fan of signing Davis. But if we don't sign Davis, and we lose Columbo...you're right....we're in dire straits. We're looking at Rivera again (if he doesn't retire), or possibly two rookies starting. We have a young QB that's going to get destroyed, so we'll be looking to replace him.....

I saw every game he played.....He isn't a ball-hawking CB.

He's good.....he's just not what his numbers say he should be. I wouldn't take him in the first round.

Again, I read where a lot of NFL scouts were wondering why he didn't dominate more. They said he gave up quite a few catches given his workout numbers.

Maybe it was coaching, maybe it was lack of experience, maybe it's just that he lacks instincts.

He had nice moments......but he was far from dominating.

I think Colombo or Davis will be signed eventually...remember I have said IF we do not sign one.

I agree. Taking a CB @ 22 would not be bad at all. A Glenn is old and NJones And JReeves were both givin 7th rd tenders (now that's a ringing endorsement). A very good corner will be there @ 22. 10 CB's ran under 4.4 at the combine this year. I know speed doesn't make a good football player but CB's w/out it don't last long in today's NFL.

Revis
Ross
Hall

Chris Houston...............sup 4.4 better athlete and player.

In light of todays events with Clements signing with SF, I would like state again for the record I am in favor of the Cowboys going CB at pick 22. Regardless of the Henry situation moving or not moving to FS. The only other position I would like us to consider is WR but I don't see any way we can lose by taking a cornerback. The economics of signing a good free agent just doesn't sit well with me at all.
Unless we sign an O-lineman soon, I don't think that's happening, at least not in the 1st round. IF we lose Colombo and Davis signs somewhere else, I think we shut it down in FA as far as the o-line is concerned that is. That'll mean the onus w/ our 1st rounder WILL BE o-line and I'm hoping it's Justin Blalock! I think he's a better player than Colombo or Davis......
