CBS seizing the opportunity to start cutting ties with Tony, I think they want to move on from him.

I think this is more of the reason, he was a little buzzed for sure, should not have driven. but seems like a escape for CBS more than anything. Viewership was down on his games he was hard to understand half the time and lost his MOJO for calling plays before they started.

I haven't watched the video's or kept up with the details but what exactly affects his credibility as an announcer?

I mean it's not like other well known public personalities haven't had issues with substance abuse that were common knowledge.

I absolutely want him to clean up if needed but for his sake not because it impacts me thru his announcing duties.

That's the point, the video is not even that harsh, they are going to use it as an excuse to sit him down and try somebody else for the job and if that works out bye bye Tony. IMO they are not that happy with him for some reason, call it ratings, his style or something else.

What he did was stupid and reckless. Not sure why it's so hard for some here to admit that.

This could be a one off mistake or maybe there is something else going on in his life. Who knows. Maybe that's what this "break" is for.

That being said, the video of his arrest is entertaining and different than some famous people who get pulled over and are defiant and angry about being pulled over. Again, how he interacted with the cop doesn't change the fact what he did was terrible and selfish and he's lucky he didn't hurt anyone.
