Agree but I'm starting to think Jerry, Stephen, and the players not only want his talent but the WR room needs more leadership. I'm not sure they are seeing the leadership from Lamb that they had hoped for so far. I'm basing this on what appears to be a lack of attention to detail and drops.
I could be wrong but I think this gets done ( it's rare Jerry AND Stephen admits their desire for an outside free agent in public) even if they overpay a bit.
Leadership and OBJ are two more mutually exclusive terms.

Interesting his knee wasn’t healed the first time. That’s some crazy stuff. I’m not sure how he even passed the physical. Regardless they won so they can suck for years now and no one cares.

Yea I noticed that too........crazy

Lots of focus on a potential Gallup-type deal.......

Word is it's a toss-up between the Giants and Cowboys.....he'd be the Giant's WR1.

Agent's Take: Treating Odell Beckham Jr. fairly on a long-term deal as he prepares for NFL return
Several teams are interested in OBJ. How much is he worth?

ONE THING YOU NEED TO KNOW
Odell Beckham Jr. is approaching nine months post-op, and so his market will heat up soon. And it’s important to know how the ex-Giant, Brown and Ram got here.

Beckham initially tore the ACL in his left knee in October of 2020, had surgery, and returned to the field for Week 3 in ’21 as a Brown. Which gave the impression he was O.K., and that Cleveland had given him plenty of time to rehab (11 months) when the situation was more complicated than that.

Regardless of where the blame is placed, Beckham’s 2020 ACL surgery wasn’t successful. By the time he pushed his way out of Cleveland last November, that much was clear. In fact, during his physical with the Rams, there was plenty of trepidation about signing him, with the status of the knee murky enough that the team might’ve balked at signing him if it were for the full season. After talking it through with Beckham, the team and player figured they could get him through the season, managing the knee, and hoped for the best.

They almost made it, with Beckham tearing an ACL that was hanging by a thread at the end in the Super Bowl. And the prognosis coming off the second surgery, performed by Rams team doctor Neal ElAttrache (one of the nation’s best knee surgeons, and one whom Tom Brady trusted with his knee 14 years ago), has been better.

Still, it will remain a point of interest to the teams looking into Beckham (49ers, Bills, Chiefs, Cowboys, Giants, Rams) in the coming days. Which should make his physical pretty relevant, same as it was a year ago in Los Angeles.
OBJ is not that big of prize or need so i no longer care hes insurance and if NY gets him and makes him a 1 lmao that would be a mistake. he would start a 3 here and work his way into game shape and trusting his knee, takes 2-3 games , he could be a weapon in the playoffs. hed be making mistake going to a team that made him the #1 instantly.

unless he can stop the run or play CB , hes not a NEED nor should fans or the team focus on OBJ.,., go get suh or find plan to cover up the Swiss cheese holes in this defense. seriously Brown and Lewis gone exposed the backend while we try and stop the run to no avail on the front end..

his need and name are overrating his value. Sorry but fans are bipolar run more , please run more play better defense earn TOP, OH but sign a WR coming off 2 ACLs, so we can throw more??

lets keep this stat coming posted it on every OBJ thread

he had 27-327-5tds in 8 games last year.
Lamb had 11-150-2tds in one game.. let that sink in and discover Lamb nearly got 50% of OBJ stats in ONE GAME and seemingly according to experts Lamb has no help to draw converge. he literally having a career year and with a strong run game all you need is a WR like Lamb at 1 and Gallup, TEs, and Brown will fill in the rest, Gallup will get better each game.

thats the 90s cowboys' way , ONE primary wr and role players everywhere else, a strong run game, what's missing ?

oh yes

DEFENSE!! OBJ doesn't play defense. case closed...oh wait we back to old cowboys' way need to outscore opponents then blame Dak for everything(Romo) yup seems so.

I agree, usually don't see a full court press coming out in Dallas for any fa. Not only do they need more leadership, but they need more explosiveness. They are getting virtually nothing out of both Brown/Gallup since Dak returned. Giants are a real threat do to Sterling Sheppard's relationship, but does he want to go to a team that is even further away from contending?

OBJ is not a leader.

Be realistic about what’s likely to happen this season. Take a minute.

Now tell me if come March, you want to have this dude tied up at 20 million per moving ahead or at least be in a position to sign some real run stopping vets and fix that problem right away.

It’s not even a given he will be effective this year.

You want HIM in the middle of the miscommunication arguments on the sidelines? I don’t. At all.

He never has asked for $20 million. The article said they should prorate his contract based off of the $20 million

Of course it would be prorated for this year, and that’s fine if they want to chance it.

I saw something where he didn’t want to sign short term for just this year.
