My position the still same as every year.....play every divisional game like it's your last. Doesn't matter how many games we lose. As long as we are undefeated in the division by T'giving, the playoff is still there for the taking. Other words, sweep the division, sprinkle in few more wins, we are right we at least one playoff game home. The same position I focus on every year.......

CBS Sports names hardest stretch of Dallas Cowboys schedule

While the Dallas Cowboys may seem to have only an average strength of schedule, as their 2018 opponents went .500 last season, no mistake should be made. They have one of the most difficult slates in the entire NFL. The way NFL scheduling works is that teams play each opponent in their division twice. The Cowboys share a division with the Super Bowl champion Eagles, and won't face them until Week 10, meaning Carson Wentz is likely to be back at full strength by that point. They also play one division within their conference and one division outside of their conference. Of the eight teams in those two divisions (the NFC South and AFC South), five of them made the playoffs last season. A sixth, the Houston Texans, would have if Deshaun Watson had stayed healthy. So already, the Cowboys have eight playoff caliber opponents if you count the Eagles twice, but they also have three placement games against the other NFC teams that finished in second place in their division last season. Those teams are the Atlanta Falcons, who made the Super Bowl two years ago, the Seattle Seahawks, who won the Super Bowl five years ago, and the Detroit Lions, who made the playoffs in 2016.

In other words, brace yourselves for some very hard-fought games. The Cowboys are facing down an absolute gauntlet this season, and Will Brinson of CBS Sports explained just where that difficulty is going to come into play in the middle of the season. There is one stretch on Dallas' schedule that he believes is harder than all others

Count me as one who believes if we are who we wanna be, you don't worry about your next opponent. It's the other way around, make them worry about us.

Yep.

If you can't post a winning record against this caliber of opponent then the playoffs would be wasted anyway.

Give me the hard schedule any day because then if they still make the playoffs they just might be ready.

You don't want to get beat up with a schedule harder than others competing for a SB. But eventually, you will have very difficult opponents. Having a bye is better than not.

I heard Jarwin was getting that false start move down pat by the end of OTAs. If true, we won't have to miss the false starts after all.
:lmao::lmao2::lmao:

They did drop some valuable draft capital on that Dalton Schultz ,whose salient notable is being a pretty good blocking tight end,,,while I'm hopeful of seeing a revamped exciting & Innovative offensive attack plan this year,,,,I should expect to experience more of the same established stale & predictable o_O,,,he's the RKG in the GARRETT stratagem.

Yup, I've learned to manage expectations. I use to go into each season with Super Bowl aspirations. The past couple of decades have been humbling.

The article lost me with the Watson and the Texans would have made the playoffs last year if not for his injury. Therefore adding another playoff team to our schedule...well they neglected this....if not for the dictator suspending Zeke, and if not for Lee missing some time, and if not for Tyron Smith being injured...WE would have been a playoff team as well. Then this entire schedule outlook would be viewed different now wouldn't it?

I'm planning on enjoying each game for the excitement that it offers. If the Cowboys aren't able to cope with a tough schedule, they really don't belong in the playoffs anyway. Having any unrealistic expectations is optional, while enjoying each game for whatever entertainment it offers is preferable to anyone who truly wants to enjoy pro football enough to keep it in perspective. ;)

Well well well! Its about time someone recognizes what I have been saying since the schedule came out. This guy is right and people need to take off the rose colored glasses and come to the reality that the Cowboys are gonna have their hands full week in and week out. In 40 years of watching the Dallas Cowboys I cant ever remember them having to face this many playoff caliber teams on their regular season schedule. And then you throw in the games that many people think are wins for the Cowboys and those are no guarantee. These are the only wins I can see on this schedule. Bucs, Commanders, Colts, Giants, Lions. They split with skins and Giants but could lose to Lions or Bucs. I doubt they will beat the Seahawks in Seattle or the Titans either. They are not going to beat the Panthers,Texans, Saints, Falcons or Eagles twice.
At this stage right now I just dont see where are the wins are going to come from?

Same here,bro!
But I am anxiously awaiting the resurrection of the XFL next year, hopefully it won't be a rolling cluster**** straight outta' the gate, like this NFL has devolved into.

I'll also have interest in the AAF (Alliance of American Football) League, a pro league which my home town, San Antonio, will be competing in, along with 7 other teams. Ex Cowboy, Daryl Johnston, will be the GM. It's been scheduled to begin following the NFL championship game of the Super Bowl. There'll be plenty of football to see in 2018 for sure. Their 8 teams will play 12 games from April 9th to February the 28th, which will ultimately culminate in the AAF Championship game. ;)

Keep in mind that, if/when we beat any/all of those “hardest stretch” teams, a lotta people here will be falling all over themselves to post comments like “Yeah, but (pick an opponent) really isn’t that good.”

Correction: the AAF League's season actually ends following the Super Bowl, rather than beginning then . . . oops, my mistake.
