How much does captain obvious get paid? Without reading the article first, or knowing how many games they were referring to, I brought up the schedule and said weeks 10-14. About 90% of the members in here could have done the same. They must be getting bored and are just looking for something to say.

The article lost me with the Watson and the Texans would have made the playoffs last year if not for his injury. Therefore adding another playoff team to our schedule.

The Texans went 3-4 before Watson got hurt. The rest of their games included three against playoff teams, plus a road game against the Ravens (who finished 9-7) and another against the 49ers (who went 5-0 after adding Jimmy Garoppolo). It's highly unlikely the Texans would have gone 7-2 or 6-3 if Watson hadn't gotten hurt -- and certainly can't be assumed.

That's nice but it doesn't mean a lot. Looking at a schedule and deciding who is tough and who isn't is a silly game.

Who here thought the Rams game was a big one on our schedule last year? Most people thought the Rams were a W.

I did. In the thread where we predicted the Cowboys record I said we'd be 15-1, with the one loss coming to the Rams.

Count me as one who believes if we are who we wanna be, you don't worry about your next opponent. It's the other way around, make them worry about us.

Count me in. If we're good, it won't matter. If we're not, we'll get a better draft pick. For anyone here old enough to remember the early 90s Cowboys, no schedule was tough. There were no tough stretches, just tough weeks for our opponents. Cowboy fans marked one week, the 49ers.

This post makes me sad.

I used to treasure the Sundays when I could watch the game and if for some strange reason I needed to take a short nap, I could wake up with the game late in the fourth quarter, well in hand.

Speaking of short naps...……

Back then I used to get up for work at 6AM. I forget what year it was, but it was the first game of the season, Monday night against the Giants. I was a little tired from being up all day and sitting on my couch moments away from kickoff. Yeah, I fell asleep and woke up more than midway through the 4th. Score was already 35-0 and the 'boys were slowing it down. To this day I'm not sure I've matched the anger I felt on that Monday night. But I was happy they won. It was only about a year ago that I found that game and watched it. :)

Michael Irvin was such a bum. Aikman threw him a perfect pass.

Yeah, he was scared in the middle there. Come to think of it, I don't recall a lot of drops by him. Is it my imagination or are there a lot more drops by WRs today than in past decades?

I could have written that in half the time for half the price they’re paying that writer. Here’s my column: All 16 games will be both winnable and loseable. That’s the NFL.

End of story.
If only they paid us the big bucks to write this huh Bob. Overstating the obvious for a pretty penny.

Well well well! Its about time someone recognizes what I have been saying since the schedule came out. This guy is right and people need to take off the rose colored glasses and come to the reality that the Cowboys are gonna have their hands full week in and week out. In 40 years of watching the Dallas Cowboys I cant ever remember them having to face this many playoff caliber teams on their regular season schedule. And then you throw in the games that many people think are wins for the Cowboys and those are no guarantee. These are the only wins I can see on this schedule. Bucs, Commanders, Colts, Giants, Lions. They split with skins and Giants but could lose to Lions or Bucs. I doubt they will beat the Seahawks in Seattle or the Titans either. They are not going to beat the Panthers,Texans, Saints, Falcons or Eagles twice.
At this stage right now I just dont see where are the wins are going to come from?

Nice to read some reality here now and then............

12 wins..11 wins...10 wins Right:huh:.....with our young defense and lacking true proven talent with no depth( Cowboy players never get injured) ....with Dak at QB....and JG the head coach....as long as we're doing the fantasy land well how about we go 19-0 .....:muttley:
....oh well this coming season will be one Massive reality check for our Cowboys......and guys like Waving Monkey will be here as usual with there bag of excuses .........If we win 7 games consider it a successful season.....

That makes sense! If your predicting 10 or 11 wins maybe even 12 why not just say 19-0.
NFL network replayed Carolina vs GB game last December. Carolina defense was all over Rodgers in the 4th quarter especially when Rodgers tried some of that miracle stuff that he used on Dallas. They sacked him so quick he didnt have any time.
Carolina was an 11 win team last season that had some credible wins over Packers, Falcons, Patriots, Vikings and played Eagles close. Reality is coming on opening day because They have a great rush defense. Garrett has all summer to put together a plan B and plan C.
