CBS Sports Top 50 Free agents

Good Lord, he overrates Red Bryant. "A force in Seattle's defense"? He had 1 sack last year starting 16 games in a 1 gap 4-3 defensive end. 2 sacks combined in 4 years. How is that even remotely considered barely passable, much less "a force" in any defense? He's Kenyon Coleman. The Seahawks are letting him go because they desperately want to upgrade over him. The Seahawks had to start benching him in passing situations for a situational pass rusher. Everyone knows he's about 30 lbs. over his listed weight.

I hope the Cowobys sign Red Bryant and Paul Solai for the lulz. I really want to see if we can set the record for the longest timed play from scrimmage. I think Eli could probably stand in the pocket completely untouched for a good 25 seconds with those two Fatty McStiffs added to our existing DL talent.

What an awesome free agency class this year. Normally there's like 5 good prospects that will realistically see the light of the day, this year there's plenty. AND multiple players that fit our needs, like G and CB.

Just look at all these guys, all who could step in and start right away at some of our biggest weak spots.

-Nicks
-Carr (how sweet would it be to not be forced to draft a CB high? They're always so risky)
-Cliff Avril
-Tyvon Branch
-Dashon Goldson
-Tracy Porter
-Ben Grubbs
-D'Qwell Jackson (my favourite FA)

In my scenario, Solai would play NT while Ratliff moves to DE. Then draft Reyes (or Jared Crick if he's still there) to compete with Spears and Hatcher for the other DE spot. I know it's not the best, but it would be a start and an improvement over what we have going on now.

The idea of 3, 7 year contracts gives me palpatations. :laugh2:

We haven't had a ton of luck with long term deals. Usually by the time the player gets 3 or 2 years from the end of their deal, we're dying to ditch them.

No guts, no glory. These 3 guys have less risk than most. They'd all be 30 or 31 by year 4. That's no so bad and all three could still be close to peak performers.

The window is closing fast on Romo and Ware and I for one don't want to see another prime year of their careers wasted.

I don't look at this as some silly dream team type scenario or that these signings would have a greater impact in year two.

No. These are three reliable vets who'd step right in in 2012 and give us as much as they will in 2013 or 2014.

IF these guys hit the market and IF we could somehow pull this off.......we'll be a better team for it.

Steven Tulloch or D'Qwell Jackson, both ILBs. Hopefully both James and Brooks are gone, nobody else really stepped up and these are two guys that can come in and help Sean Lee right away (jackson in particular)
brookings.

I wouldn't be surprosed if Philly somehow signs Mario. Either them or the Giants. I'll puke.

I would. There's no fit for Mario on either team.

But then again, I would have said the same thing about Nnamdi last March. I still believe the eagles only got involved in the bidding when they discoverd we were. I'm tellin you that was a classic block move if I ever saw one.
