Dennis, Anyone?

---Every time I hear TONY ROMO talk these days..I am compelled to call him "Grasshopper". All his talk of staying in the moment...and only thinking about getting better moment to moment...and focusing only on what he is facing that moment...makes me think of the old KUNG ** show. Has Romo visited a mental guru since laying on that field in Philadelphia last December? Or is he just doing his best to convince himself? It all sounds next level and very "zen-like" to me...but I would simply tell him...don't turn the ball over, Grasshopper.
---Okay...here is what I am hanging my BUCKEYE hat on this weekend...(I have to find something, right?). My Bucks have only lost 1 non-conference home game the last 7 years...and that was to Texas. This freshman...Barkley...may be really good...but he is not what Vince Young was in that game.
---And while on the subject of the big USC-Ohio State game...I keep wondering when I will grow up. My nerves are on edge beyond belief...my stomach hasn't been right for days...I can't sleep. The Cowboys open a new season...which is my job...my first grade daughter has been a pill all week....my big puppy... Woody... has been sick all week...these are "real life" things to be concerned about...and a STUPID FOOTBALL GAME is all I can think about? I am 49 years old and feel like I am pitching in the Little League World Series this weekend. I hate it. And, love it.
---Does any young Hollywood beauty have a prettier face than Rachel McAdams?
--- Best sports related question that came up this past week...if the RANGERS make it into the playoffs...game one...(if no rest issues) you sending Scott Feldman or Kevin Millwood to the mound? If you really think about all it could imply...it is not a simple question.
---So...the scene at COWBOY'S PRACTICE this week...no pads on the players...a disc jockey cranking music...the players all laughing and dancing to the beat...uh...tell me again what has changed from last December?
---A chance to start 2-0 for the first time in a long time...against 2 solid MAC teams...Riley Dodge...Coach Todd Dodge saying..."this is just the beginning"...I imagine it is fun again to be a UNT type. From what I have witnessed in my 12 years in North Texas...the MEAN GREEN nation deserves it. They are a passionate bunch.
---Can't wait to get back on T.V. this Sunday morning with Cowboy's Hall of Famer RANDY WHITE. (Cowboys Gameday...10:30am...Sunday morning on CBS-11). Of all the ex-players (aside from you Babe) in media roles...he is my favorite. I love to hear him get all spittin' fired up when talking Cowboys.
---PREDICTION TIME...Cowboys win this weekend...but struggle doing it...23 to 13. Cowboys will be 7 and 4 going into the tough final five games in December and January this year. They will lose 3 of those 5...again... finish 9 and 7..again... and miss the playoffs...again. SUPER BOWL call...San Diego and Philadelphia...storylines...L.T. swan song in big game...Vick from prison to big game...Norv and Andy...good coaches again. FAVRE fails miserably in Minnesota this season. If the RANGERS ever get the lead in this wildcard race...they won't give it up.
---TRUE BLOOD goes away this weekend...but...CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM returns. See...bitter, sweet.
---It just dawned on me...maybe my first grade daughter (and dog too?) is struggling this week for the same reason I am...maybe, unfortunately, it is in the blood.
...it is a big ole goofy world...
