Our defense looked iffy all day, but the offense seems to have some big plays in 'em.

I think at least some of our defensive struggles has to do with the fact that they have a new OC that we have basically no film on.

The O was very inconsistant a couple of big plays due to blown coverage but other then that they really didn't look all that good

when we win we are lucky, when we lose we suck

It's more accurate to say that there was some luck involved in the ease of this win. Kellen Winslow dropped a crucial fourth down conversion, and Leftwich and the receivers were struggling with their timing and route running.

Not sure where Ratliff was today.

Ware, I think, was woozy or something. Not much from him today, and that's unusual, obviously.

I thought Spencer played pretty well.

I'm concerned with the run D like everyone else. If you want to look on the bright side, if that's even allowed, this will get the D's attention big time for next week. I don't think we're this bad on D.

One thing I do think we miss, believe it or not, is Jason Williams. Well, not that we *miss* him, but I think we need a player with his kind of speed and explosion. We don't have enough of those in our front seven (Ware excepted obviously) and especially at ILB. Bradie and Brooking aren't very fast or quick.

And finally, I'll be one of the few to give Tampa some credit. That team was 9-7 last year and only a final game of the year win from the playoffs. Leftwich isn't a good QB overall, but he can be great when he gets on a hot streak. Everyone assumes they'll be terrible this year, but we don't know that yet.

Luck is part of the game. It tends to even out. We missed a few too. The lob to Miles comes to mind.

Exactly. Those happen in every NFL game.

weren't the Bucs lucky that romo was off on some throws like the one to Bennett, the one to Austin, one or two slants to Williams?

There's always some luck involved. TB was lucky we didn't hit a couple of long TD's earlier on the game due to Romo being a little off. They were lucky our defensive miscues allowed them to run like they did.

You can't write off another teams mistakes as luck, otherwise every game would be won or lost on luck.

My guess is that if our team wasn't out there playing against them, then they could have completed many more passes and ran better. Give some credit to our defense and it being able to disrupt them just enough to get the win.

Only 4 penalties. Much improved.
Great game from Romo after a horrible start, kept his cool and came back huge. Could tell he was just "off" early on.
ST looks elite.
Hope Baugh is not seriously injured...
Defense tackling was really awful as covered over and over.
Defense was bad but I wonder if we went in with a scheme that just didn't work because after halftime it was better- but not good enough we know.
Love the play by RW11!! Some of us never doubted.
Seeing kickoffs bounce out of the endzone is pretty nice. We should have tried that before. :D

1-0 :D I'LL TAKE THE "W" THANK YOU.

Oh, and the amount of "fans" crying on this forum during the 1st quarter.... lol

I'm still not sold on Phillips, while the teams offense played well in the 2nd half they sturggled in the 1st and the defense did get some turnovers a couple called back because of penalties. But the biggest improvement I saw today was in Special teams. This unit killed us last season, today they got after it, big time, a blocked field goal, excellent kick return protection and every time the offense scored the special teams didn't give up a huge play or make a mistake. There is a different attitude in this unit, I hope they can continue to build on this game and they will be a game changer for us down the road.
